Carlos, take a look at HPF's website again for that Powerhouse manifold... it got one really nasty review:

"Exhaust ports are egg shape and will not seal with factory gasket. The small holes in manifold, that help line up the manifold to the head are so sloppy they alow the manifold to move around more than 3/16". Burnt up the factory gasket in less than 200 miles. Factory gasket does not even match the manifold. Stud holes for the turbo and the wastegate were drilled thru to the inside of the exhaust runners and alow exhaust to leak past the studs. I have spent hours on the fabication of the down pipe, wastegate exhaust and the intercooling piping, all for nothing and to have to start over."

I was thinking of getting that one but now I don't think so.

Oh yeah...321 is def better. I've coated several 304 manifolds and none have cracked...all were coated on the inside though in addition to the outside. A real pain to do correctly ;)

Edit: Just looked at your link...for $25 extra for 321 is the way to go!

Matt: I'd have to sit and think about it a lot runners v's firing order but I doubt it would have much of an effect.
I think the 7mgte firing order is 163425, on the Powerhouse manifold it seems to me like that would cause excess turbulence especially in the 3-4 runners.

For the turbonetics one, i'm not sure what the internal design is like, but it seems like each side's runners blend together. I also think the runner length is too short. The owner of a speed shop around here that i'm a friend of a friend of was talking to me about this. Not to mention the 1,6,2 and 5 runners have very abrupt and extreme bends.

The ssac one looks alright, though i've heard terrible things about the weld quality on them (from a professional welder). I'm not too fond of the design of the longer straight portions. The more straight portions you have, the better chance of it heat cracking. When these portions expand, they expand out and push the bends out with them. The bent portions expand in all directions.

I plan on having the shop I was talking about design a manifold. They designed a 4g63 manifold on a friend of mine's car that has held up super well to the heat, and gave documented gains. I'd like to help out designing the manifold on my 7m as i'd like to put some of my theories to use.

Take what I say with a grain of salt, i'm still learning so it is very possible my ideas are far, far from accuracy.

Matt: Nothing wrong with having good theory but often in our cars you end up compromising as there are many hardpoints to take into consideration!

The 321 SSAC is that sort of compromise and can't be beat for the $$$ it costs, if i factor in the time to build a header myself it ends up being a 2>3K piece and still has as much chance of failure so I took the easy way out! ;)

I was quite surprised at the quality of the part I received but it seems by the time the Chinese get to a 3rd run of anything most of the issues are sorted!

I've read through your build before but I can't recall, were there any turbo/wastegate fitiment issues with that manifold?

the reason they are shown on RB engines is due to the fact there are millions of skylines in australia and minimal earlier model supras.

and of the 7mgte powered supras in aus, there arent many which have undertaken many mods

Matt: I'm using an internal gated 3540R so no issues for me ;)

For an ext gate you'd either need an adaptor or to cut the flange off rotate it 90 degrees so the gate faces North/South.

Smokey: LOL yep rarely see a Mk3 here and most times they're dogs! :(

Yeah...My guess is that it would be made in China.

I was doing a search on Supra manifolds oneday and a website containing the Chinese manufacturer who actually makes the manifolds popped up.

Cheers,
Roy
