I think I may have found a very nice electric fan setup for the supra, similar to a FAL setup, but much cheaper. I am ditching my current setup of two parts store fans for this, and I will let you know how it works out....
The two fans I have now, the conbined airflow is about 2000cfm, the new setup pulls less current, looks much nicer, and has an airflow of 4500 cfm. Also, it is a dual fan setup and has a single nice looking shroud. The fans are from a 2002 chevy impala police interceptor. The size looks about right, I will know for sure tommorow.
Part number for the dual electric fan is 620629 at advance auto parts. Cost is 152.88 Here is a picture. The setup comes with a lifetime warranty.
I also plan on using a fan switch on this. I will be using a stock radiator fan switch from something(don't know what, found it in a book). The part number for it is 405039 also at advance auto. This is a two terminal fan switch that will thread in one of the temp sending holes. The fan cut on temp is 200 and will turn back off when the coolant temp reaches 190.
I am running a 180 thermostat and a koyo radiator, so the fans running all the time shouldn't happen. This setup appears as though it will work quite well. I do not have a problem with the fans I have now...they work great, but I can get my money back on them from advance along with the money for the control thermostat for them, and it will pay for this newer much nicer setup with a lifetime warranty.
What do you guys think about this?
