Think of how you would have ran fuzz, had you removed the 10lbs of kind from the spare tire well. What's up FUZZ, Long time no see.

What year supra do you have man? It seems a bit lite on the hp. I know you're rock'n the JDM but jeeez.

Its a 90, i did my jdm swap over two years ago now, hp seems low but well the torque isnt:biglaugh:

I enjoy driving my N/A, I just wish it was faster sometimes. The problem isn't even the power, it's the weight of the car, but I'm not going to gut it out.

here i'll tell you a trick, put in some 91, bump the timing to 15 via CPS..

You should get close to 175-180 TQ. take off the air resonator on the intake I think that helps as well,

Open the afm and make it 3 clicks lighter. (these are all sogi mods except for the cps)
install some irridums
Replace plugs with nology or magna core. install a set of cams and cam gears...

All the mods above are good for a honest 20-25 HP.

But best mod of all is probably a rebuild as the engine sounds tired.

Best mod for a NA is a 200 shot of nitrous. (wet)

I wonder what's mines making. it's got a cold air intake, 10k on the engine, no egr, obx header, straight thru no cat exhahust with 2 resonators including a magnaflow for a nice tone, and a dual slanted tip muffler... and a stage 1 spec clutch kit. I want to just pick up a 7mgte turbo intercooler, manifold etc.. What's all involved and about how much money... how much power would i even gain?

i dont get it why to open that afm and make flapper move lighter (aka loosen flapper spring) because it makes mixture going more richer.if you look that dyno chart you see air/fuel mixture already going too rich 3500rpm 12.0-->5800rpm 11.5. I have been said that most power is made at air/fuel ratio close to 13.0 in an NA car. Maybe tighten that spring would give you a better result :icon_conf

I like this post. I've been debating the AFM mod and this brings up a good point.

60Hz are "dumb" terminals refresh rate. Get yourself a nice 22" wide screen LCD and ATI high-res graphic card that can run 1600x1200 at 85Hz then you can see the imperfections on all cars posted here.... :biglaugh:

If it opens earlier, you'll suck more air and use more fuel = more power. opening ealier in the low end will give more power, it's already fully open at WOT. To adjust the fuel out of there you can get a S-AFC or something

Actually, I tried the AFM mod. Loosened the spring 3 clicks, and drove it that way for a week. My car didn't seem to run any better, in fact, it seemed to run worse. Fuel mileage dropped considerably as well. Went from an average of 20 mpg to around 17.

In my opinion Loosening flapper will make it running richer. Try to imagine example this: you runnig on highway steady speed at 5000rpm.lets say that flapper is about 40% open. Now when you loosen that spring the flapper will be more open at that same situation(driving steady 5000rpms) lets say thats about 45%. Now engine thinks that you are sucking more air, so its going to put more fuel to the mixture.now you have a richer mixture compared to the first situation. But i think that cars with lambda sensor will run in closed loop and correct that mixture anyway to stoich (no in wot) I have safc&wideband and i have noticed that my car runs a little bit lean (afr 15-17) at normal driving conditions.(My car dont have lambda correction) But when i floor it the mixture starts to go richer and richer all the way to the redline. I street tuned my safc and corrections start at 2.5krpms -3% and it raises about -25% at 6.5krpms.target afr was 13.0:1. now it feels much responsive.
