right Ive snaged a few pics really want to not have to buy a new hg but I have alot of people telling me not to be cheap and buy a new one.

first jsut showing the different amount of useable threads with the arps the one on the left is upsidedown

and some thing I just noticed now the paper gasket sits slightly up between the front cover and the block could this have beena contributing factor in the problem?

Behind the rear timing cover is a oil only area, that stream of rust may be the issue. Got any pics of the head and head gasket in that area.

Also that rear timing gasket sticking up cannot be good. Stock gaskets require FIPG in that area. Not sure if its used with a MHG.

coolant passages look awful rusty for being a fresh rebuild. Did it sit for a long time with just water in it or something?

when the shop was working on it they used straight water(wernt going to add coolant till it got running)

and that was a couple of months ago so it sat for a bit before I realised that was the case and drained it

will get some pics soon

now the origonal reason fro tearing down the motor was it got absolutly ZERO oil pressure would this be the reason or is there likley to be something else wrong too

the oem toyota paper gasket stuck up on mine too but was trimmed so it didn't stick up and fipg was pit in those areas also with the hks stopper mhg
