hey guys had to show off my theatre system that my room mate and i have assembled over the past week.

The receiver is 5.1 that put out 110W to each speaker. the big speakers can handle 180W at 8ohms and we got a 10 inch 100W sub that goes to 23 Hz. Then in the back got 5.25 inch speakers with .75 inch tweeters and a 100W yamaha center speaker.

The set up is not top of the line but it is crisp and complete i feel. For about $450 it does a GREAT job.

then on to the visuals, we got a viewsonic cine500. at first i was sketchy because it was there first HD home theatre projector produced but i have to say it is Tits Up. lol

Right now we have a 105" screen and it is super bright on eco mode for being only 1000 lumens. It is very readable during the day. We watched Fast and Furious tonight and it was Epic!!!! Then the xbox 360 is the best thing that i have seen!! its so krisp and clear.

I picked up the projector for $675 and it was way worth it. I totally recommend this projector hands down. Just got two sheets up for a screen but will probably come up with something better soon. anyways enough of the blah blah blah now to the pictures.

Hmm, looks good. Word of advice (NOT TELLING YOU WHAT TO DO WITH YOUR ROOM OR EQUIPMENT :D) remove the blue lamps... And omg organize your wiring. Tie it up or w/e... Throw it under carpet.. run it along sides of the stand the reciever is in or anything for it to not look like ike already hit it, like it is about to hit Houston in a few hours : (... But nice stuff, I been wanting to do a projector home theater like 4ever now... Still props to ya..

That was my first thought. When I bought my first 5.1 home theater system (back in '95) I couldn't even watch movies without my neighbors complaining. I had the volume turned down so low that it was pointless to even have the system. If I turned it up they'd come knocking on my door, or complaining to the apartment manager. In the first couple of weeks I got so many complaints that I took the system back to the store for a full refund. I figured if I couldn't enjoy it then I didn't need it. I later got a 7.1 home theater system when I bought a house. No offense, but apartment living sucks.

haha for the wires they are all tied up that was when we had the reciever pulled out so so we could have the video source go from the tv to the reciever from the xbox. but know that it is all together the xbox is by the projector and all the wires are tied up.

As for the apartment life we have been very lucky. were on the first floor and there are no neighbors above us. the living room sits at the corner of the pod so we have the bedroom creating more of a buffer before it gets to the other neighbors in the pod. Weve been playing the system over 8 hours a day for the past week and have not had any complaints, but well see how that goes:sarcasm:

With a 10 inch? Nah!

Now if he would have said something like, "Dual Klispch KW-120-THX powered by a KA-1000-THX amplifier". Then I could see it as I live in a house an my neighbors KNOW when I am rocking the movies :)

and for Reference.

I own a Complete Klipsch Ultra Thx 2 home theater system. (Average of 97 dB/w/m and 5.1 only for now).

Powering the speakers (except for the subs) are a set of Crown XLS 602 which @ 8 ohms are rated at 380 watts.

What this means is that at a measily 1 watt. The system is already pretty loud. At 100 watts. It would be downright deafning ;)

Infocus IN82 does the display duties.

BTW not my hobby. My (and really not my asit is a corp) company. I deal with Home Theater equipment :) One of the better recievers out there is the Pioneer VSX1018AH-K. MSPR of $599 and can do ALL of the new Codecs like Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD-Master Audio along with LPCM Decode (crucial for PS3 blu-ray playback as PS3 does not bitstream the advanced codecs). Not to shabby power out put either (130wx7).

:love:man all that sounds nice!!!. I wish to have that set up but then again we are in an apartment:biglaugh: We were on kind of a budget so i think it is well suited for what we paid. I mean that receiver would of cost more than our whole speaker set up.

As for the screen im gonna go get a 4X8 sheet of i thinks its siding board? i cant recall the name, but its about 5/16 inches thick and pretty light weight and very smooth, then ill have some of the behr silver screen paint mixed up and paint the board and hang that on the wall. Cant really just paint the wall because they are textured so it would look like crap.:3d_frown:

Seriously? At $599 it is one of the better recievers that does the new stuff.

I take it no Blu-ray player? :) 720p native stuff will look leaps and bounds better than any upconverted material :)

That look sweet, I am laso a fan of projectors.
I know my setup would be considered "old" but I built my "home theater" system in 05', 7.1 sound, projector displays everything, from internet to cable to DVD. I wont go into details, but I never should have bought the HD DVD player. My screen is 147" :biglaugh:

Here is a couple pic. of my setup.

HD or blu-ray

Are you enjoying the movie? If so. The format is irrelevant (of course the fanboyz will tell you that you are the scum of the planet for having supported Toshiba).

Myself I have a PS3 because I am anxiously waiting for God of War III :) It just happens to also play blu-ray ;)

HD :(. But never the less normal DVD's look 10 times better. What happened to Toshiba? The next investment will be a PS3. I’m not so much a "gamer" but I would like to replace my old ass PS2 and since it has blu-ray it is a good deal for me.

Also my Sharp is 2400 lumens ;) and I wish it was brighter.

Toshiba. They did the math and decided to pull out. The thing is that they are making hand over fist money in the nuclear sector thanks to ther acquisition of Westinghouse UK.

As for PS3. If you can source a "previous" 80 GB model PS3. Those are backwards compatible with the PS2 games. Otherwise you will have to wait until the 120GB unit comes out.

Ok, I knew they pulled out of the "HD" and now everything is only Blu-ray. As for the PS3 only "certain" ones like the 80GB play ps2 games? Sorry I not in any way a "gamer" and don't know squat about them. I think only the 80 GB plays Blu-ray right?

Sorry don't mean to hijack this thread.

All PS3 play Blu-ray.

Only the OLDER 80 GB plays PS2 games.

The NEW 80GB does not play any PS2 games.

Thank you, it is pretty sweet. PS2, movies, football, internet, ect., there is nothing like a screen that is larger then life. For the $6-7000 budget I had I think it came out nice. I bet Figgie could find a way to make it better though ;) BTW it is XGA resolution.

Thank you for the info. I Think will have to skip Best Buy and look at craigslist, or eBay for the older 80GB PS3 then. Is there a model # i should be looking for?
BTW my old ass PS2 dose not even play GT4 :( it only plays my old PS2 games like GT3, tokyo racer, underground 2. I bought it when it first came out.

Um... Maybe someday a better (brighter, and higher resolution) projector and and sub(current sub is a polk audio 10"). I would need some thing that has the same throw ratio as my sharp that also has a good "bang for the buck" like my sharp had for 05'. All of my wires are in the wall/ceiling.
