So here's the deal. I'm going to be posting updates whenever I can BUT due to not having a job at the moment things are going to go very slow so please don't expect frequent updates ;)

History
So i bought this car knowing that it had several rather large issues but since i'm restoring the car with new, aftermarket and upgraded parts I did not really care that it did not run. So far i have found that the engine has a BHG and numerous electrical issues, the rear end fluid has rather large metal shavings in it and the interior wiring is all hacked up. Body wise I couldn't be happier especially since here in the Maritimes everything turns to rust and falls apart rather quickly but this car barely has a spot of rust on it. The only thing wrong with the body is the busted trim and old paint.

Phase 1: Tear down
The engine is almost ready to come out, just waiting for space in the garage to pull it.
The dashboard has been removed.
The entire interior is coming out hopefully tomorrow.
Both engine and body wiring harnesses will be removed and repaired.
Everything is coming off the car at some point to be cleaned, repaired, powder coated or upgraded.

Phase 1: Tear down continues...

Today I got most of the interior stripped and found a few nasty surprises :: angry ::

The factory sound deadening appears to of trapped moisture and was surprisingly easy to remove. All i did was stuck a flat screwdriver under it and it simply popped right off with no effort :icon_surp

I'm going to be sand-blasting the interior and welding those holes up. I don't know if that piece under the car is structural or not and if so would Toyota sell that piece?

After i have the floors and such repaired and epoxy primed I'm going to spray on some bed-liner to prevent this from happening again. I want to do underneath the car as well but the factory undercoating looks much tougher to get off.

EDIT: Those door speakers are not staying lol

The car has been striped down, epoxy primed and has its final coat of high build primer. Paint to come soon!

The plan has been to go 2JZ from the start! Going to keep the stock twin for a bit then upgrade to a big single. Looking for about 600 hp when done. I'm also re-doing the car's electrical from scratch and possibly removing the climate control since i'll only ever drive this car in the summer.

WOW you've got some work happening.
The rusty floor pan and hatch, did you transplant sheeting from a donor?

I'm loving that you've torn it apart and when its together, it'll last another 20 years!
