Need your Opinions on removing bumper grill (Pics inside)

With that lip (same one I have too) you will want to keep the grill.
Some lips look fine without the grill, but the Spec-G lip doesnt realy look right without the grill. That 3 hole type looks good without the center, but I really dont think the Spec-G would.

Thanks guys for your feedbacks. I am not really looking to gain anything from that besides looks. On the other forum, IJ mentioned if i considered painting the grill black, as it would kind of bring focus on the intercooler. I will get some Black masking tape(if theres such a thing) and carefully tape the grill to see how it looks. I also thought about cutting gril then leaving just the single middle Vertical grill part for support, and painting/taping it black to "hide" it. I really like both looks, so I might leave the grill on for now, then later down the road remove it. What do you guys think about the black grill, or the single vertical grill in black?

Kitty hair will crack out, the flexable filler that Keith reccomended from Urethane Supply is the way to go. (And they have other products that will make the repair easy like "uniribbon" repair plastic you melt into place with a hot iron.)

Personally, I like the 88 grille/bumper, but if you must have a 89+ then just paint the grille black if you hate it so much. (It is there to somewhat protect your FMIC/oil cooler/Condenser/Radiator...) Imagine hitting a small rodent like a rabbit or house cat. With no grille, your going to immediately impact your coolers. With the grille, you stand a chance of dispersing the impact out into the grille, and even if it breaks, it might save you replacement cost of a cooler or two.

The photoshopped black grille looks nice. (I'm not saying the removed grille that have the bumper repaired where it was cut out is not good looking, I just think they are not as protective.)

Air flow difference would be minimal at best, and it's silly to even try and compare them! LOL

I would think things like the undertray and other air routing skirts and baffels make a big difference v/s cut out or uncut out grille's.
:)

You can get the screen material and mount it in the opening to protect from those smaller projectiles.

I am starting to really like IJ's idea, paint the grill Black, thus creating the illusion on no grill, and not having to worry about sagging. Keeps every happy LOL, what do you guys think? This is the photoshop to give you an idea with both angles. Thanks also Madsupra88 for the paint.

hmm, i like the stock look, but there is something about a car comming at you with a big ass intercooler that says, "yeah, i'm turbo, and my owner loves me."

^^ true, i dont know about where you live but here in oklahoma we have quite alot of eleged "haters" that would love nothing more than to take a bat to any imports intercooler or simply just kick the shit out of it. its not like you cant see the front mount its just not AS visible. i personally painted my front mount black to avoid problems with redknecks, but it all boils down to your personal preferance

My big @$$ed FMIC is not black actually. It is just sitting in there deep enough to not get any sunlight in either of those pics.

Chris J did have his coated black with a nice thermal disperssant (supposed to increase the effectiveness of the IC)
