This should be a pinout for my jza70.

I need to know which wire is for the tach, for a remote start system. IGF I think? Also how to test for an output for the tach off the computer ?

Also throwing a code 12
-No "NE" or "G" signal to ECU within 2 seconds after engine has been cranked

I am 99% sure that it is a wiring issue under the dash, which wires should I be checking? I think it is connector U the Cam sensors, but what do I check them for? Voltage, continuity to ground, ?
Also could someone please tell me why the cam sensors are both listed twice on that same connector U ?

Thanks alot.

If you have any ideas where I could find such information please please link me!

there are 2 of each cam sensor because there is the round and the power... check continuity on the wires.. if there wires are fine, then check the sensor its self..

KK so pins 4 and 5 should be power I would think and 11 and 12 ground?

To physically check the cam sensors I can do a resistance test.
According to my alldata the 2JZ specs are

COLD {from -10°C (14°F) to 50°C (122°F)]}
Asian 985 - 1,600 Ohms
Nippondenso 835 - 1,400 Ohms

HOT {from 50°C (122°F) to 100°C (212°F)}
Asian 1,265 - 1,890 Ohms
Nippondenso 1,060 - 1,645 Ohms

so I will go by those for that.

Thanks for your time Tissimo

Good news and bad news update

Good News: I found the problem!

Bad News: I found the problem :(

Lol anyways here is what I found.

Here I noticed that my two cam sensor and crank sensor wires were all put into one at some point....
p661498_4.jpg

There was wrap and tape around the joint.

Overall I would say I have found about 9 or 10 wires that need to be repaired.
Had to end the night early due to lack of that small shrink wrap so hopefully she will be running great tomorrow!

Any ideas on what you think may have happened to the wire though?

One last good question. the cam and crank sensor wires are shielded. I had to cut the shielding off to repair the wires. Should i worry about re shielding the wire or...?

Thanks.

Trevor

Yes. I got good shrink wrap and after some careful tedious hours or soldering and checking each wire it is all back together and works better than before I bought the car! So far so good!!

yep, definitely rats ate those wires. I see that all of the time at work.
