If you have the money... I'd grab some of those magnesium Volk TE37s. They are insanly light, but like over 1000 per wheel.

You can go for fd wheels or mkiv wheels because I am pretty sure almost anything is lighter than sawblades. Lighter wheels are nice because the lighter they are, the less force it takes to turn them, etc.

wheels are good weight reduction, but as unspring weight, not really what he's asking about.

our front seats, while comfy, are probably the biggest freakin weight gain on the car. it's like the seats in my gt4, they were like 70+ pounds each. Comfy as hell, but a nightmare in weight.

Carpet is big too, but the ladies like carpet, so that's staying in mine. :)

Drilled rotors/lighter rims(there is debate about drilled rotors lasting, but I've run them on a 95 Celica for 80k with no cracking and MANY 100+mph stops).
Sound deadening under carpet(tough job, but will net 20+ lbs of 'tar').
EGR(depending on emissions testing, in TN they don't even check under the hood, but some places are more anal).
Exhaust system(most anything is lighter than stock).
Charcoal canister(only a couple lbs, but it adds up).
Aftermarket stereo(my Kenwood CD player easily weighs 1/2 of the factory tape deck, speakers are generally heavier aftermarket though).

And if you're real crazy about weight, lightweight nuts and bolts.

strip all the uneccessary little motors and actuators, like for the mirrors and the antenna. tow hooks, all ac shit. by the way, i had all of my ac stuff out for the entire summer in south carolina. it sucked but at least the weight was off.

Replace the hood w/ a carbon fiber one.If you can find a decent one w/ no cracks!Get a donut spare, there is alot you can remove, but it might not add up to much, you will still have a heavy car,it just goes with it.

i replaced the stock spare with a AAA card, i am contemplating ditching the back seats and back seat belts, i will have a new 4" stainless steel exhaust in a couple of months.

about the EGR is that actually going to affect the muffler part of the emissions or just the visual, because here they dont do visual.

the charcoal canisters' purpose is??

front seats i plan on doing eventually

if i take out the antenna and its motor what am i supposed to do with the hole in the body? weld it up?

i was thinking about removing the 3 piece wing but it looks at though the hatch on my car is not the original and the wing is barely holding on, the hatch that is on there now has gaping odd shaped holes in it that i would need to patch up, how should i go about closing these? welding or bondo......

can any glass place replace my rear hatch glass with plexiglass/lexan?

thanks for all the quick input:icon_bigg

Buy a Mk2 and swap your drivetrain into it......
Seriously you're starting with the wrong car if you want light weight, it's a GT not a sportscar.....

For the record, I used to have a 454rwhp 1990 Supra Turbo, 5-speed.
the car was near mint.

I have said it before and I'll say it again:

"I took _ONE_ ride in Chris Parvin's 7M-GTE powered MKII Supra that I helped
him build and I started taking my MKIII Apart to build one."

Since then I have built several 7M-GTE MKIIs, and my 1984 has 350+rwhp
and I've never looked back... Ever.

Lose 850lbs of weight by switching to a MKII body. And you can keep the
A/C, sound deadening, facotry seats, etc.
