when your talking about a specialist. Are you talking about someone to install it for you and make it work? I am not in that area but I just want to be clear about what you want.

yeah, the shop I used to work at stopped doing them unless the customer buys a pnp harness and has all the parts before coming in.. the profit/time spent on them is otherwise not worth it according to my friend (owner). then again, he didn't wanna raise his prices to offset that, so that's part of it too I suppose.

I guess this becoming more and more common after speaking with some other shops about the same thing.

I can see that being a problem.. I bet a lot of owners are flakey and than you would have a car pluggling up the lift for a extended amount of time. While they trac down parts or set the problem in the laps of the shop to solve it for them.. I guess their is nothing wrong with that as long as they are being charged accordinly

you nailed it right on the head.. I couldn't have said it any better.

even if they aren't flaky, there always ends up being parts that you are missing/have the wrong one that prevents you from moving to the next few steps. now, the exception I suppose would be if you've done a certain swap so much that you know every little issue that's gonna surface and perhaps even stock parts to get around that. of course, that only works when everything else is a constant. :icon_neut

either way, it's all precious time, and I think the shops feel that they can't charge for that waiting down time/trying to fix random issues. plus, in all likeliness the customer would probably refuse or be pissed to be charged for that.
