ha funny thing happened to me, there was a add for an aftermarket bumper for a supra on a local classfield so i went to the guys house and picked up the bumper for $20 canadian, and it had a little bit of scruffs and is going to need some work but about 2 weeks ago i foudn a bomex on a forum for $200 used and thought it looked kind of fimilar and to my suprise when i went home and looked at my $20 treasure realized it was a bomex!

i got my sills to sit flush, with "minor" extra effort to close the door, using the original mounting screws i mean all the bomex does that, a lot of people cut where it goes under the sill off, but it works both ways

I have Bomex original sides (label is on the backside) , and they do not go under the sills either.

mine dont go under the sill either but fitment is great

have four small screws that hold it to the car there heres a pic sorry ive got a pos camera so the pics are not very good but i circled the screws.. the holes were already in the sideskirts and the screws are very small.....

The real bomex do not go under the sills, see the very first pic in that link to my thread by AF1JZ, and the upper most vertical piece closest to the sills I cut off also (the part where the holes are in the picture of Suprarcr89's), I thought it best since that is where the door seals IIRC.

after pics...

yep thats were the door seals tooquick but the doors seal great here still though....no issues

I too have actual bomex sideskirts and dont have the section that goes under the door sill. the sideskirts were not cut on either.... now my wing and rear bumper pieces are shine auto replicas but still top notch...

I agree about the cringe factor but its not like your putting huge screws in im talking small.... (very small, you notice you can barely see them thats why I circled them) besides they were already on when I bought the car.....didnt have much choice there... there only 4 small holes.. get self tapping screws, in the end if I took the sideskirts off I could weld up the holes and you would never be able to tell that they were even ever there..... just like my quarter panel holes for the stock 3 pc wing were welded up and shaved because they were not needed for the bomex wing..... and you cant tell that there were ever holes there in those spots.... dont know how you would make them secure and tight without them unless you molded it in like tooquick did....

anytime you get into aftermarket body parts like sidskirts on a car that didnt come with them you run into this problem.. nothing wrong with it as long as its done right and not sloppy...

I have no screws or rivits whatsoever, I ground down to bare metal as you can see in my thread every where the sides contact, and used SMC large panel adhesive to attach....It is OH SO Permanent...lol. You could beat on them and they would break before they would come off the car. Not that I want to prove that;)
