Ok, so I just finished an engine swap, just a new 7M-GE from Japan. I connected everything up, had it all ready to start, but I'm getting no spark. Any suggestions? I tested the spark from the coil to the end of the wire that plugs into the distributor cap, nothing. Oh, I have a 1986.5 supra.

Thanks

They come from the harness, should have eyelets on them, and bolt directly to the intake.

The only eyelets I remember connecting go to the starter. Are they to the rear or front of the car from those that go to the starter?

Front. They should be by the solenoids under the intake. Should come off of the same harness as the injector plugs. Should be three brown(?) wires, and bolt to the intake in the same area as the bolts that hold the upper intake to the lower intake.

Not on a Supra but with my MR2 when I swapped in my 4AGZE I had buzzing relays really bad. After cleaning up every ground point and the eyelets from each of the harnesses with sand paper really well the relays went back to normal.

How many wires do you have going to the starter? If you have more than one comming from the harness then you found your ground wires that are not grounded. If that's what you did then that is why your relay is buzzing.

Iirc., the only small wire that goes to the start just pushes on(signal wire). I don't know if those ground wires would reach the starter, but that could very well be the problem.

Yeah, i have 3 going to my starter, 2 from the harness and one from the battery. Did I screw that up then?

Starter staying engaged could be the starter itself, ignition, or bad wiring. Does the small push on wire have power with the key in the "on" position?

Could have damaged it by connecting the grounds to the starter, I thought he got it fixed?

Yes the ground wires will reach the starter. Ask me how I know.LOL
