I absolutely love it on my new 89.

Here is my question, How does it work?

Also, What makes the car have progressive steering? I assume its a combination of the Rack and the pump?

Any info is grately appriciated.

Thanks

The progressive part of the steering is in the valving at the rack. Read the TSRM to get the details. Personally I like having the steering feeling the closest to the same all the time. I don't want extra power at lower speeds and less at higher, I am sure it makes feeling the car out more difficult.

Makes steering tighter at high speeds.

cause it adds 5hp, and then you dont need to go to the gym, jsut drive the supra for 30 mintutes..

PPS is an excellent feature, it makes steering the car through parking lots like a luxery car, but at higher speeds it tightens up and steers like a performance car should. In the upper right corner you will see the pressure control valve with the wiring harness. When the pressure control valve gets a signal, it opens valving and bleeds off some of the steering fluid, therefore tightening up the steering.

I rebuilt my rack when I had my engine out.

That and I can't be bothered to replace the leaking pump. :icon_razz
