So long story short I swap my 7mge out with an 7 mgte, rebuilt it from head to toe. At first when I tried to start it, it wasn't getting spark, I think I Mess with the cps connector then bang, she has spark again but not running. I tried spraying carb cleaner and then booooom lol their goes my intake pipe off. It would only backfire or stumble when I spray cleaner in their. So I though my timing was off cheak it everything was like up the I though I maybe I timed it 180 off. Put everything back together nothing while cranking it but if u spay cleaner in Their it backfires still but not as loud as before. I was thinking the timing might not rite, the cps is bad. The only engine codes am getting is 32 which is the afm and that's on because my friend drop the afm and broke the air way that goes into the maf. But I just wanna know someone else opinion about this

I sounds like the CPS might be a tooth off. Did you line the gear on the CPS up correctly before sticking it in the head? Are you plug wires in the right order? The car will still run with code 32.

I took the cover off the cps to see where the rotor lines up with the dent on the gear but every time u put the cps in it moves a tab bit where it don't be perfect on the top pins

It's going to move. You have to take the CPS out, line the gear up, set the crank and cam gears at TDC then stick the CPS in. Let it warm up and set timing

Pics of broken afm?

IF its damaged its prolly the issue. once the afm gets a signal the fuel pump will turn on.

Ya if you broke the part that goes in the housing its prolly bad. I'd look for a new one.

Yea but I read that it should still limp or run like sht and all mine is doing is backfiring like a shotgun then nothing after it acts like it wanna start but don't. So fuel is an issue to since it don't do nothing after the gas is out the intake. Since the afm is no good should I just do the lexas mod and fuel pump upgrade to ?

IF you dont have 550 injectors just use the stock afm. You can put a bigger fuel pump in no problem as long as you drill out or by pass the j tube.

Can also jump fp and b+ in the diag box and listen for the fuel pump to come on and then try starting.

Ok i re-read your post and i have some questions. Since your car started as an 7MGE.....1) Do you have a 7MGTE wiring harness? 2) Do you have a 7MGTE ECU?
3) Is the 7MGTE a yellow plug or grey? The reason I'm asking is because I had some ignition issues when I got my car.
I didn't realize the slight differences in pre 89 yellow plug Supras vs post 89 grey plug Supras. So can you tell us exactly what you have because the year model car you have (87....i got from your profile ) with a 7mgte engine that you haven't specified the year of engine can help us give you better info on your problem.

Ok. I would verify timing is set @ 0 per specs and set CPS per specs. I'm looking for a link that shows how to test afm that was on another forum. Verify spark plugs are correct. Jumper test block to see if fuel pump works (as stated above in another post). But basically start from the beginning and let us know step by step what you're doing. The TSRM has good instructions on testing the afm.
