My car does feel better with torque and it runs so smooth. My 1j ran smooth, but this is different somehow. I kept my 1jz block and maybe one day it will be installed into Vonda's motor. It's still in what I'd consider perfect condition. The cylinder walls are absolutely perfect. I'm really hoping that her 7m last her until we get too old and tired of the supras. I don't know when that will be though because I love mine more than ever.

Vonda, I'll let you know when I"m done with the supra. Let's just say I'm a lot closer now than I was this time last year...........:biglaugh:

Thanks bluemkiii. I think it sounds good too, especially since I did my own exhaust. So far I havent' found any leaks.

IJ, you can't help but to poke fun at me for one reason or another. One, it's in your character and two, I'm an easy target...........:biglaugh:

I know in the past I've joked around about 2.5L not having enough Tq for our fat cars but it was only half joking and now you guys can understand what I meant :D

No jokes needed, it is true. The 1J doesnt make our car respond the way it should. Jay has been on both sides of the fence, and I would be willing to venture he would never go back to a 2.5

Now get a 2J head on it and quit being a hybrid :naughty:

There is a little bit of truth to that statement, but I have one of those 2.5 engines that make torque, 433 wheel hp and 435 torque.

Jay,
Your car sounds good and Im sure it runs great also. Now go back to the dyno and make some torque! :biglaugh::sarcasm: Congrats!

I'll let you enjoy it alittle longer before I tell you about all the head upgrades I will have for you after Texas! :naughty:

I would be willing to bet that is on a 58mm or similar size turbo. The 1J needs a very fast spooling turbo to offset the displacement disadvantage. Once the turbo is full tilt, the car is fine. My main beef with the 2.5 is that any good size single makes it a boat anchor for around town driving outside of boost. The twins compensate nicely for the lack of displacement.

I come from a land down under
J: The 1J would be the most awesome of awesome motors in a nice light car ;)

In our oompa loompa's though it's at a disadvantage.

Really happy to see the results you're getting and can't wait for some dry day vids (still think traction is going to be an issue though even with your tires)

As for poking fun at you I only joke with people I like :)

Thanks IJ.......as for the traction, these tires hold good. I've got my boost turned down to 15psi for right now and it holds great. It can't hold in first gear, but I never expected them to hold that good. It does hold second gear fairly good, but I don't know they would at seventeen or eighteen pounds of boost.

Mark, I'm hoping to make some good videos on our way too Texas, at Texas, and on our way back home from Texas.

Jose, I can't wait to see what you've got for the head work. I think my valve springs are good or at least the machine shop said they were, but I would love to rebuild the head if it's going to help my car. It seems a few of my friends are trying to build monsters to beat my car. I can't have that.

Quinn, I'll change the sig when I have something worth of putting there......:sarcasm:

Snow, I have two 2jz heads, an intake, but I don't have a wiring harness for it.

Noah, I figured an edumacated man like yourself could at least spell a three letter word.........:biglaugh:

You can run a 2J off of a 1J harness. Of course you will need a new exhaust manifold and your intercooler and dp may be off a little bit.

I didn't know I could run the 2jz off of the 1jz harness, but that shouldn't surprise anyone.

I have two heads because I have two blocks. I collect supra parts as a hobby........jk

You don't have to apologize to me. I don't really understand Justin's comment, but I might have missed something.

Are you making a kit with valves, retainers and springs?
