Does anyone have pictures of the W5? driveshaft next to a R154 driveshaft? I am trying to get my motor in but the spline will go in and stop.. The driveshaft seem as if its too short. It goes in about 1-2 inch and thats all.. Thats the max as it looks. The r154 tranny mount is bolted up and so is the rear differential but the shaft seems as if its too short to stick in all the way into the tranny... Anyone have pictures?

So, basically change the tranny means putting in the correct front half of the drive shaft and your set?

get the piece to the tranny, and the peice to the diff and have a driveshaft shop make a new driveshaft. otherwise there is a length difference.

So you cant just buy a whole R154 drive shaft to fit to the back of a NA LSD pumpkin? I was thinking about getting a one piece shaft for the R154, will this not work now?

The differential flanges are all the same, whether or not the car is turbo or the diff is limited-slip.

The transmission output shaft is different between the W58 and R154 transmissions. The R154 output shaft is larger with a couple more splines.

The driveshafts are pretty much the same length. You may be able to swap the tranny end yoke, but that depends on if the u-joints are the same size. They may be.

Our pal at Shaftmasters would know. He's made driveshafts for both.

Well shit, I might as well go buy the single piece rather than trying to find a R154 OEM Driveshaft.

Datsrboi might be easier for you to do the same, unless your lucky and your area has tons of junkyards/parts cars/R154s laying around. My area = nothing supra related even close QQ more right?:biglaugh:
