Need help, Kazera wheel troubles

I didn't know where to put this so I put it here...

My car is in my sig, you can see it sits very low and has the newest 18" Kazera KZ-A rims.

In the pics, The front springs are "Suspension Technique" springs.. It lowered the car too much so I bought a Eibach Pro kit for both the front and rear..

Anyone know the drop on Suspension Techniques? I couldn't find a website.

If anyone has these rims with an Eiback Pro Kit, could you let me know if it rubs any?

Right now, the front rubs terribly on just about any turn.. Also, the offset in the rear is definitely not for MK3's... when the rear end squats, the tire basically buckels the fender..

Does anyone has any solutions to my problems?

The Eiback Pro Kit is going on no matter what, so I have to work around it

st springs usually dont sit very low. i have seen them sag over the years and sit a lot lower. were these new?

how is your alignment? what condition are the shocks? what size tires are in the front?

Suspension Techniques springs lower the car 1.3" in both front and rear.

The Eibach ProKit lowers the front 1.2" & the rear 1.0"

The Eibach's are progressive rate springs. If I recall correctly the Suspension Techniques are linear rate.

Suspension choices should be made based upon performance & driving style, not ride height.. That's riceboy shit IMO.

Does anyone has any solutions to my problems?

I'm on the stock struts. I was told the pro kit was 1.5 front and 1 rear...

I like the rims, I would like to work around them..

I do alot of straight line racing.. Maybe once in a while I'll do an autoX event or two, but I drive the car in nice conditions only and do mainly street racing.

The ST's were on the car when I bought it.

Other than ride height, whats the difference in the 2 springs? I'm no ricer, but it annoys me to hear the tires grind on the fenders..

What about flaring my fenders?

I can't find specs on my wheels... I suck at teh interwebz....

Do you know where the tires are contacting the fenders? Is it in the front and rear? We still want to know the tire size...and that it listed on the side of the tire.

You can roll your fenders but we can't tell you if it's a good idea till we know that's where it's rubbing.

I think I found the problem.. stock struts might be blown if they are the factory ones.

The tires in the front are 245/40ZR/18 and the rears are 275/35ZR/18

They are Yoko ES100's IIRC.

The are thats rubbing on therears is the edge of the tire where it comes to a 90 degree agnle.. Well, a lil lower like more on the sidewall than the tread, but very close to the edge still.

The fronts are hard to tell as I can't see any damaga to the tires yet. BUT, the top middle of the fender is getting pulled outward from the turns.. So I'm guessing the top of the tire.

I bought the car with those rims so thats why I don't know much about them. Sorry....

So your thinking the struts huh? So would I be ok to replace them with an OE replacement? A local Murrays has Monroe shocks and struts for a decent price.

Sounds like you need to roll your fenders. Replacing the struts is a good idea since you probly don't know their age and they will guard against excess suspension movement. Since you are lowered I would recommend going to the vendor section and emailing any of them. You want a performance damper to control the increased spring rates of your lowering springs. I would suggest Bilsteins or Koni's. I have the Tociko's and they suck. Good luck.

I was hoping that I wouldn't have to get my fenders rolled as I hear it's a bad idea. I'm not sure why, just heard not to, lol. I'm still learning about things so I'm not sure what a damper is... I know, sounds dumb...

I'll call some shops tomarrow and see who can roll them, hopefully it's not extremely expensive. The car handles excellent though, turns on the dime, feels really good imo.

I spent alot of money on the car lately, so right now i really don't have alot of cash. My car is at Accelerated Performance (some of you may know it as Defcon Motorsports back in the day)

Whats the difference between progressive rate, and linear rate springs?

Damper is another term for "shock". I just checked and Driftmotion has Koni fronts for 105 each and Bilsteins for 210 for the pair. If I were doing it I would do front and rear at the same time but that's just me.

Rolling your fenders is common. Do a search on here, someone posted a great link about it. You can do this yourself or pay to have it done. I know people who have done it themselves with success using a baseball bat and a heat gun.

roll your fedners. easiest way would be get a heat gun, a piece of wood, and a hammer. I did my rears like that and it came out good. Not even a hint of chipped paint.

Ha, funny thing about the baseball bat. I biddy of mine has a EF hatch with a b18 swap. Car rolls out pretty good and I was talking to him about rolling fenders. He told me he jacked the car up, then lowered the edge on the bat little by little.. He never said anything about heating it up :biglaugh:

Meh, I don't have a heat gun... I'll see what people charge around here so if they mess it up I can get pissed at them rather than myself :icon_razz

So, I'm crossing my fingers hoping rolling my fenders will do the trick. I'll do a search and see what I turn up.

I have a feeling it will for sure work for the rears... Fronts, we'll see.

I went with Eiback Pro Kit springs all the way around. Right now I have ST's and it's too low. Reign said something about them being different... Whats he mean?
