Need help buying NGK Spark Plugs, NGK Wires, and High Flow Cat..

Stock wires, go to dealer or get em online from Champion (or call em). Can also get stock plugs from them as well for pretty cheap usually.

Do you guys think I should buy NGK V-Power plugs or the G-power?
Are the MSD wires good, I mean with the NGK, not sure if its a good idea mixing 2 brands..

I think I'm just going to go with NGK plugs (BCPR6EPN8 5275) and NGK wires (TX08 9567) Anyway, I still have the cover on my engine, and it won't show the wires..

Just order them from oreillyauto.com and Raptor Racing is a vendor from the forums in the vendor section.

You can go to any muffler shop and have them build you one, it should only be like $120. I just got a quote for a 3" installed for that.

Is there something wrong with your cat? clogged? Or you just trying to upgrade?

You can PM them directly as well on here, that is the best way to get a hold of people sometimes.

I just purchased HKS Super Drager, and the exhaust on the car is custom made with Catco CAT welded on it, all one peice.. I don't want to weld anything to my HKS, and I need to be able to pass inspection.. That's why I'm asking about a good Pussy CAT:sarcasm:

If you search under Poodles name you should be able to find a pic.

Why don't you just take your exhaust off and to an exhaust shop with your new exhaust and just have them weld on a flange for your cat that you already have? They can just cut the cat off then weld on the right flange, should be pretty cheap compared to buying a new cat!

I thought of that, but that CAT didn't pass inspection, and I want to have ALL new set up with the good stuff.. I hope I don't sound spoiled, I work hard for my money.. But I like peace of mind and want the best... As a matter of fact, I just did what you said to my 89 NA, welded flangs onto the universal CAT and it passed inspection, but it cost me more than the already made one..

That's crazy it should only cost you about $50 at the most to have it welded with a flange. But are you sure that the cat is what's making you fail emissions? It sounds like something else is hindering you. Because a properly tuned car with no cats will pass emissions.

I work really hard for my money as well and want to buy all new stuff, but if I can save a little money by just fixing something that I have already I can spend that money elsewhere for the car.

We use NGK 6097 in just about everything. You can get 3-4 plugs for the price of a single platinum. We sell them in packs of 18 to keep things convenient for you.

However, we stock all NGK part numbers. Can be shipped out same day if you order in the morning.

NGK spark plug wires are "OK", but we actually use a local company for spark plug wires. The brand is kingsborne and the quality is nice. You can choose any color you like, and they are cheaper then anything else.

I should have clarified better, it cost me more with the universal CAT + welding!
I like to save as much $$$ as possible also, but I like to buy good things at one shot! My NA didn't pass inspection due to high Nox, checked the O2 sensor and was good, my mechanic determined it was the CAT.. And it passed after installing the new one..
That's why I want a good CAt so I don't have to deal with Smog issue after my build is done..

hopefully he didn't go with platinums... platinum +boost = melted platinum tip= engine damage.... copper like fletch stated work the best. ONE ELECTRODE people!

Platinums are stock and are FINE

Copper — Melting Point: 1357.77 K (1084.6 °C, 1984.3 °F)
Platinum — Melting Point: 2041.4 K (1768.3 °C, 3214.9 °F)

I have NGK iridiums in my car, and a slight miss. An annoying but slight miss. Perhaps it is related to the NGKs

But I'm confused (whats new?). What kind of life expectancy is there on spark plugs in a sup? My altima has 60k on it running factory plugs. I know the sup is a turbo, runs hotter, blah blah blah, but changing plugs every 5k seems a little extreme.

I don't know how old my NGKs are, they were in the car when I bought it. One was checked, and it looked clean. But, perhaps there are other indications that the plugs are going bad..?

Our cars are picky about gap, and you're not supposed to gap iridiums (but their gaps aren't consistent just like any other plug).

Try replacing the plugs and see if it goes away. I don't replace my plugs often at all as it's a pain and they're platinums and not coppers.

Guys,
I got the NGK Platinum plugs (BCPR6EPN8 5275)
And NGK Wires (TX08 9567)

I didn't want to take chances with gaping the Iridium, nor wanted the copper...
Even though I only drive my car in the Summer (some nights and weekends, if that), which would make the copper plugs probably last me 6 months...

I settled for the Platinum because they are recommended as OEM and I know I will have a peace of mind about them

I got my high flow cat from George at raptor-racing...
Looks great.. Can't seem to be able to attach pics anymore...Hmmm?? Maybe I should PM Mod and see what the problem is..
