Doing a complete rebuild on my '89 Supra Turbo 7MGTE. Looking for best performance parts to hit around 350 hp to the wheels. Any advice as to keeping it as affordable and as efficient as possible would be much appreciated. Looking to take it to tune up in Portland after parts are in their places. :icon_surp

Look at my current mod list/build thread. That's 350 reliable hp at the wheels (with the 50 trim ct26 at 18psi tuned just below afm fuel cut). Other than that, do as IJ says and don't cut corners.

Running cost for my current build...about 5/6k in parts in case you were wondering. This is for the motor upgrades only...not including suspension/brakes/tires/tranny/maintenance which pushes it much close to 8/9k. You're going to want to build things other than the motor before you build the motor. Don't remember if it was IJ or Grim that said...if you want a 350whp motor...you need 350whp brakes/suspension/tires/hoses/fluids etc etc.

This is why as I approach 500whp this year, I am doing a lot of upgrades to the things that support the motor.

Again good luck.

Awesome, thanks for your help! I appreciate it. I'm trying to keep it simple on my rebuild, I'm just about to take out the engine, and I've been disconnecting and labeling everything. It's my first rebuild, so I'm trying to soak up as much info as humanly possible while I'm doing it. Do you have any ideas that constitute the whole, affordable and reliable theme I'm trying to keep with it?
