Does anyone have the right socket that they can lend to me? (someone that has used the socket for arp head STUDS for the 7m?) i'll pay Whomever $5 plus ill pay for shipping there and back.. prefferably someone from canada as it would be quicker and easier.. and cheaper..

I can hook you up., but it might be just easier for you to run to the auto shop or a tool store and look for a 13 mm (FYI exact same size as 9/16) deep well. The base should be thicker than the rest of it so it should be narrow enough to fit. If you want me to mail you mine though I can.

P.S. had same prob with the 1j ARP head studs

If you have a 13 mm deepwell try it. I thought 14 as well, but its not. Which sucked because the size all of my sets did not come with the 13 mm, so I went out and bought one and it worked perfectly. The only thing you will have to be carefull of, is the center of the deepwell might not be wide enough for the bolt to pass through, so if you have a dremel on hand you can widen the center out with that. Thats what I had to do. May also be your prob with the 9/16? maybe?

Edit. Ok did some research. The nuts for the head studs are the same. The only difference in the length of the stud. The first 3 numbers of the part number indicate size of wrench required and the last four indicate lenght. The only difference between 7m part # and 1j,or 2j, part numbers is the last four so I would assume that the 13 mm should work for you as well.

I had a few sockets so I just ground down the outside of one of them until it fit right. That's now just my ARP headstud socket. ;)

soo hard to find this damn socket in this stupid city. i went to 4 different stores and they didnt have it... soo ya and i went back to the place where i got the 12 point 9/16 and tried the 14mm since its a tiny bit smaller.. its exactly the same outside diameter as the 9/16 socket... so i'll be returning that.. i'll try grinding down my 9/16 socket to turn it into a thinwalled socket... if that doesnt work out.. idk lol

Unless you have ARP stud nuts > 4-5 years old, a 14mm should fit the nut. A Craftsman 3/8" drive 12 pt 14mm socket fits current production ARP stud nuts and will clear the hole in the head. Use a 1/2" ---> 3/8" adapter to mate to a 1/2" drive torque wrench..

This is what I used on mine. BUT it still didn't fit around the cam on a couple locations. So I had to remove the cam's.

I used the craftsman 12 pt 14mm as mentioned below.
The problem I ran into on a couple of them wout having a deep socket was that as the nut got turned down the stud would start poking at the socket wrench and so the socket would slip. Had to avoid pushing the socket wrench all the way into the socket so that it would still clear the stud.

I had to rotate the cams to get the socket to fit past, there's a sweet spot where it will drop right past the cam.
