I currently have 3"turbo back with no cats to a megan racing straight through muffler. The drone is starting to bug me. What kind of resonators would you suggest. My friend who works at napa suggested the vibrant ultra quiet.

There was a thread just recently about the Moroso spiral flows, I'm going to try one out when I go single since I gotta get the exhaust re-done anyway.

Will be a welcomed addition to the straight through 3.5" with just a dynomax race bullet that I have now.

Where would one fit a 24" long resonator? The most I'm going to be able to get in my car is one with a 4" x 12" body.

When I get around to it, I'm planning on trying out Aero's resonator. It's actually based on frequency cancellation, no baffles and it's not just a perforated tube inside a solid one.... we'll see.

if you go look at resonators, there are a lot that are like that, summit has a LOT of 3'' resonators...

The resonators im referring to are 24" long but they are round. Maybe 4" in diameter. If you can find a straight shot next to or under your tranny, it should be fine. But if your low it could scrape i suppose.

I just put on a Flo Pro 3" resonator today, it took away a bit of the drone. It is quieter at idle. It also took away some of the deep rumble at idle and sounds "smoother".

Not a whole lot quiter from outside the car under light accelerating/down shifting/WOT from what I noticed.

But maybe Im wrong?

From my expierence, a resonantor will smooth out the sound and make it slightly quieter. But if you really want to get rid of the drone, you will have to get a big muffler. You will likely keep the drone as long as you have the little can type muffler.

Not a fan of Flowmasters, nor of anything thats not stainless..plus its not a straight-through one, so it was instantaneously eliminated as a choice. As such I planned on going that route.

I will say that I had the same exhaust as yours; 3" straight pipes to a Megan fart can, and I dont remember the drone being really that bad until I took out the rear seats. Even then it was just a bit louder. Its been a few years though
