Need a reliable, cheap dd (AKA I hate VW)

We need a car for a different purpose Need something reliable to haul dogs and stuff around. If not a hatchback/small suv, then a sedan with a big back seat (big enough for a couple hundred pound german shepherds/dobermans.
The nice thing about a suv/hatch would be that we can put a couple dog crates in it if we are transporting dogs that dont get along well, but we can make do with a sedan if i find a good deal

Yeah, I hear ya man, gotta get something fitting for what you do. If not a Mazda3 hatch, what about something like a Volvo XC90? Isn't that essentially the replacement for the V70? Would recommend the Dodge Magnum, but I'm a bit leery on Chrysler products, although that one has a good bit of Merc in it too, and you do see tons of 300C's still running fine, might be worth considering...
