Hey guys I need a new BOV that will hold 500rwhp or about 25psi max. I've been looking at the Blitz DD because it's not to loud and the HKS SS BOV. What do you guys suggest?

Is it a big deal to have the BOV recirculated? I am on the LEX AFM, and if it helps to have it and it makes it quiet I'll go that route.

I remember MKIIISupraGuy that ran a 12.0 with his set up and he was running the Bosche 110 for a couple of years and always drag raced his car and said the bov held up fine with him pushing 25psi.

I just want a good wideband that will let me datalog from a laptop and a simple guage, I was looking at the new innovative, aem, or the zeitronix.

Any suggestions on this stuff will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

I think I'm leaning towards the HKS, they came out with a new design to hold more power and I can recirculate it if I want to.

Does the AEM allow you to hook up to your laptop while still being turned on in the car and functional?

Ok just got off the phone with HKS and they said the SSQV won't hold 500rwhp, I was like WTF I know people have done this with the MK3 and MK4.
I just don't want that ugly ass Tial.

I'll only be pushing the car to 500rwhp when I go to the track and get some race gas! Other than that I should have about 450rwhp everyday!

I think I should be fine with it. Hopefully!!

There is the Type 2 that is $400 is that what you are asking about? That one will hold the power, I was just looking for something about $220 or less!

Yes cause a BOV look's should be held higher then it's functionality. makes sense.

You asked for the best BOV. Best one on the market if you dont need to recirculate? TIAL, Hands down. Anyone who dissagree's has never used one.

And FWIW I'd never use another HKS ssq, I hate thier mounting ring, and their sound.

I would not vent the BOV to the atmosphere. My 89 had that when I first got it and it stalled out all the time. I am with Ckanderson, you should buy a BOV based on its functionality not its looks..?

I wonder why that person said that. It's not like BOV's are all that complicated. The vacuum/boost source on the opposite side of the valve is equal pressure to that of pressure on the inside of the valve. The HKS shouldn't have a problem sustaining the boost to make 500,600,700,800horsepowerhike, it is evacuating the IC pipe with that pressure which is the issue.

I have a tial... and big purple tial, and it works 100% awesome.

I never said anything about the looks of the BOV at all. I actually like the HKS Racing looks better than the SSQV. I just didn't want to spend that much on a BOV. I could care less about the looks, shoot if the ugly ass bosch one worked the best I would use that one.

The lady at HKS said that the SSQV would support up to 500rwhp but nothing more. So I may just go with one of those. Everyone has told me that the Tial is the best and that is fine, I just wanted something that I could recirculate until I get a Map ECU or a Maft set up, That's all.

Pressure isn't the issue. It's a little thing called flow ;)

starscream5000, i believe its 50.5mm :p
OP: if you get a tial, do not use an AFM. either go with a blow through maf, or convert to speed density.
