Well, I decided to have a little fun tonight. I was bored on the freeway and I told myself "It couldn't hurt to give it a bit more boost."

Well, I was cruising in high boost @ 60%. This is about 1.3 Bar for me. I turn it up to 70%. Then 80%, just giving it a quick pull in 4th then letting off. Literally only about 2 or 3 seconds of this each time, and now I'm at about 1.8 Bar. In a moment of what I can only call pure stupidity, I crank the knob to 90%.

Well, I hit 2.0 Bar. I was amazed. As soon as I get there it feels like I hit a brick wall. Okay, I'm done, I hit fuel cut. Noooooooo.........

It wasn't fuel cut. Now my AFC Neo is telling me I'm at -7 kPa while cruising, the wideband reads 10.0, and it won't boost worth a shit. Now I'm thinking "I just blew up the twins." I got lucky. The only thing that happened was the line for the MAP sensor blew off.

Never again...

Right there. Bam. :D
Doesn't help much on the MAP sensor, though. It doesn't have a lip. :(

Use a vacum hose that has thicker sidewalls. ( there are two kinds and I hate the one with thinner walls). I have had good luck with those.

So... I went and dyno'd the car today. This is what I learned:

1) Mustang dynos really ARE bullshit.
2) I am NEVER going back to that shop ever again
3) My AFRs are on target. :D

I need to set up an appointment with Blacktrax for a REAL dyno, now...

Ordered a GReddy PRofec B Spec-II from Zankoku last night, it goes in Friday night. Can't wait for 15 PSI (with the silencer in :D). :runaway:

Are you gonna get the steering wheel mounted button that allows you to switch from low and high boost? :)

AFRs were dead on 12.5

But I call BS because at 17 PSI I should be pulling more than that. Somewhere in the low 300s.

I think Joe's 1JZ was blessed by a Hindu Guru or Japanese Monk.

I haven't seen his numbers yet on a "stock" 1JZ.

Find a real dyno and use 4th for Dyno pulls. :icon_bigg

This setup should be 300ish. Did you check for boost leaks?

from my experience with mustang dynos, they are sometimes 20-30whp low after seeing local supras dyno on a mustang, then go dyno on a dynojet
