hello, i've got a question for you all, i'll be using an na oil pump on my rebuilt motor because it is an na block and from my understanding turbo pumps don't go with na blocks due to a gearing issue, so my question is, will an na oil pump do enough on a 400-500 horspower motor? or can i buy a high flow na pump? anyone have one for sale? thanks for any feedback, charles

The turbo pump will fit fine, it's actually an upgrade for a NA motor IMO. You don't want to run a turbo w/out a turbo oil pump due to the need for a cooling circuit and the oil requirements of the turbo itself. There are no "high flow" oil pumps available that I'm aware of...the turbo pump has taller gearing to effect higher flow. Shimming the turbo pump relief valve ~5mm and installing a full flow, T-stat controlled cooler circuit will get you all the flow you'll need.

Nope...basically an Ansin pump, just like stock from Toyota. "Tighter tolerances" is not going to significantly affect flow...that requires different gearing. Save your cash and get a turbo pump from Jay Marks Toyota for ~$180.

The RX-7 cooler has a built-in T-stat....advance search "RX-7 cooler" with "Adjuster" for the user name. He has one ;)

I've compared the stock turbo pump to the TODA "high flow" side-by-side...took both apart. Everything was identical, including the gears. The TODA pump even had the "Ansin" casting stamp on the body ground off at the same spot as the one on the stock pump. The pumps are one and the same and will flow the same.

Why does HP Freaks sell the TODA pump? To aquire your $$$. For example, they also sell Venom injectors...another questionable part at best.
