I just finished stage one of my NA build and I am scheduled to be at the dyno in about 2 weeks. While I am there of course I want to see how much power it makes, but I also want to see if there are adjustments to make more power. I want to play with the timing and the ACIS to see if that makes any difference, but my main concern is fuel. I don't know how much head room was left in the stock NA injectors or fuel pump from the factory and as a matter of fact I am not even sure what the size of the injectors is. ( I have heard different numbers but nothing 100% positive) even if the stock injectors are up to to the task of pumping enough fuel for my current mods, they can not be working at 100% after 120K miles of use so I was thinking about sending them off to RC Engineering to have them tested and blueprinted. (www.RCeng.com) any thoughts or comments?

I might give them a try.

Now back to the original question, depending on the HP that you are producing will determin the injectors that you will need.
According to the Denso numbers, The early (yellow top) injectors are 295cc/min, and the late (green top) are 315cc/min.

if those numbers are actually correct (which I know that the late ones are cause I have checked a set that I have here) then running them not more then 85% duty cycle will give you enough fuel for 250hp on the early ones and 270hp on the late ones.

BTW, these are flywheel HP number not rear wheel.

So if you think that you are going to be making more hp then those two number respectively, then worry about upgrading instead of cleaning.

Don't waste your money on the Autometer light show. If you want real a/f readings, get a real wideband. $240 for the ZT-2 on eBay.

Have you been to the dyno to see what kind of power you are making? What is next on your mod list?

I wish there was a dyno near me. The nearest dyno is two hours away from me and i need to tow my car there:aigo: I am going to start looking into that electric supercharger that goes on the intake . The company selling the charger says it pushes 2 psi not alot but any little bit helps good luck on the dyno TrackMK3

My plan was to get to 250 horses non-turbo.

Youve got my help if ya need anything! Glad to see you takin the different route!

Can wait to see you takin some turbo supras down!

Thanks for the good luck NA86.5, but I don't know if I would go with the little blower motor thing. I can't remember what magazine tested it but they came to the conclusion that is was a total waste of time, but if you have heard or seen better results I wish you good luck with the project and I want you to keep us up to date on it!!

s383mmber1 I can takes some pictures tomarrow but my enigne bay doesn't look that far from stock with the exception of the intake pipe and the MSD blaster coil (you can kind of see the pacesetter header but it looks like crap anyway), thats whay I haven't taken very many pictures of it thus far. I don't think I am at 250 hp but I think I am damn close. Maybe 225-230 hp right now after I add the MSD 6a box maybe 235-240 hp and after playing with the timing maybe 245-250 hp!! I want to see the torque numbers!!

hey guys i have a fully built NA and my goal has been to build a non turbo motor that makes 300 to the wheels its been my project for the past 5 years ok so hears my list i decided to go ahead and build it when i had a rod bearing go bad on me so it started... i had the block decked and blueprinted bored .60 over i had the head shaved then ported and polished and had a 3 angle valve job done so then i went to order pistons and decided to have custom pistons made by wisceo and i raised the compression to 11:1 had all new gaskets and bearings done and had a hks metal head gasket and used arp head studs to hold it together, i have a rising rate fuel pressure regulator to supply fuel better and had a full 2.5 inch exhaust put on most recently headers and everything also 4 fun i am runing a zex nitrous kit with a 75 shot ihave yet to put it on the dyno but am looking forward to it i still have the stock valve terrain and cams i think if a upgrade the fuel system some more along with the cams and a new valve terrain i can get over 300 without the nitrous but then the last couple modification way down the road i want to do is to put a stroker kit and do ITB's but that is just the engine modifications i have eibach pro kit with tockico lumina II's also and stainless steel brake lines brembo rotors and axxis metal pads i have the 4:30 lsd also. its a black targa top. where u guys located?
