How reliable it will be depends on several factors: how well everything was prepped, the shape the block is in, how hard you push it and how often, and how much boost you plan on running. About half the guys who go this route have the whole thing flat out die and the other half are still boosting happily away.

For the same price as going na/t.
You can rebuild a 7m-gte.
And have more horse power.

I don't get why cat's are doing this other than the mechanical challenge of it.
Your' ge tranny is only capable of holding 400hp.

So in theory you still need to do a tranny swap.
Installing a turbo on a ge engine is only shortening the life span and dependability of your ride.

Do the engine swap.

These are only opinions and there is a reason they are free.

Its like my buddy told me about my NA-T it isnt reliable the most boost i run is 7psi more than that would just hurt the NA GE:3d_frown:. In about a year I will put a 7MGTE along with the r154 thats the best way to go trust me:aigo:

I have to disagree, i dont necessarily think the rebuilt gte swap is cheaper than a na-t and i definetly dont think you can get more power for cheaper than turboing the n/a. For the price i spent on na-t parts i would only have abuilt gte with little supporting stuff, and i would still be on the puny stock turbo, but instead i have aftermarket everything stock motor, and upgraded bolt-on turbo(jt56).

Alex Smith over on Supraforums just finished his n/a-t conversion. You might head over there and find his build thread...

Or you could search right here.........

Quite a few people on this site are NA-T. And there is plenty of info available.
