My brother _had_ it. He gave it to me because he changed his setup, plus, hes turbo now :p

Anyways, let's see if anyone else has some input on this. I want to know if I can use the SAFC I got for free or not :D

I had one on my GE worked fine. The only thing was I had to have it tuned at the Dyno as they had a WB to tune it. I sold it to a member with a GTE. Only thing I would have added is a WB so I could tune it myself.

You tuned it on your GE with no problems? Did you get gains or what? :D

I have a wideband of my own, so tuning is no problem, I just need to know if it will work or not.

Once again, jong, the originator of the 1/2NA-T tuned his car with an SAFC too. So yeah..we need to hear Degree's dad's explanation.

Typical AFM on most cars read the signal from 0 to 5 volts.

The GE AFM with the flap, reads from 5 to 0. Therefore the SAFC reads the signal, its completely backwards and throws everything off.

Gains??? Hell yeah!!! But maybe the 60 over, 10.5-1, cams, stroker, and everything else may have helped a little too:)

The reason I installed the SAFC II was I couldn't get the car to run decient with out some sort of control. Like I said I would have liked to had a WB to tune it myself. Now I have a WB with Maft-Pro and I can tune it myself.

I don't know why they are saying it can't be done on a NA. The ECU pinouts the instructions give you suck. But with a little research it wasn't to bad to wire, easier than the Maft-Pro.

You should be able to gain some from it for the simple fact(I'm a simple kind of guy CRE will testify to that) you can fine tune a little better to take advantage of any mods you make on the car.

Thank you, lol.

I have a NA-T in the works as well, I'm trying to stay away from GTE electronics for as long as I can. I have everything ready besides BOV and fuel computer. Good luck on your projects.

why would you stay away from GTE electronics....imo that would be the worse thing to do if u plan on running @ anything higher than stock boost. unless your planning to use standalone or atleast a maftpro good luck b/c ge electronics have no maps for boost.

fyi ive been running my car for the past 3-4 years on this setup@13-14psi and have had zero problems. from what ive seen the ppl who havnt switched have blown motors and usually arent NA-t anymore.

Im running on N/A-T currently i got a turbo t-stat housing(the one that attches to the head) becuase it was tapped and has a fittingfor the turbo lines. As for the feed you just need the turbo feed line fitting. I got a bunch of parts from a turbo car and it made my swap so much easier. Also i recommend getting the softline kits from Driftmotion for the GE motor made install almost painless on my part. Ill try to post pics of my setup(more specifically the fittings above).

I was thinking of going that route myself. Im going to take a look at the banjos next time I get under the car and decide from there. Thanks for the input guys.
