im going to be swapping in a 7mgte into my N/A. The head on the N/A was rebuilt not to long ago, 5 angle valve grind, new seals, new springs, etc. and i am thinking of using the N/A head becuase everything in it is fresh. is there anything different between the two that i need to take into consideration?

Not as far as I know, just the fact that the NA head will be slightly less beaten on since it came out of an NA motor.

everythings the same except the cams, (different lift & duration). I believe some members on here use one of each type on their builds. Apparently using an n/a cam on one side changes the power band response somewhat, but I'm unsure of the particulars...

I've got 'em both in mine. Evidently the intake is a bit bigger (I don't speak cams) and the exhaust is the same. Never seen a dyno and I have no idea whether mine hurt or helped. But they protect you from meteors..... well that's the word on the street.

hmm, somebody told me that the n/a head was different from turbo head, but that the cams were actually the same :boggle:

"somebody" is an idiot...

thanks for the quick replies. i knew that that cams were different and i remember seeing a dyno sheet somewhere of someone making like 9 more hp on the na cams or something minor like that. i was just double checking there wasnt anything that i was over looking.

What was the peak hp on that dyno if you remember (<350)? Could be many factors that led to the stray ponies but n/a cams shift the powerband down low so making big power up top isn't easy with those cams
