i just pieced a few parts together... i work at a parts/service center and i looked through the mufflers we had in stock... took a shot in the dark and put on a $60 raptor high flow muffler..

the drone was way too much so i cut a section after the cat and put in a glasspack... another cheap part $20 (the glasspack is just a resonator)...

doing those two things gave me a great sound.. and after a while i took out the cat, no difference to the sound but much more power low end.

you dont need a lot of money if you have a welder and some time

maybe it wasnt a raptor muffler... it may have been an afterburner, not sure much more than that. i will look into it tomorrow

Most N/A guys go with a custom 2.5 inch setup. On the other hand, I believe HKS still makes catbacks for the N/A, and also, Pacesetter does too, but I would not go with Pacesetter. An acceptable 3 inch exhaust is the Tanabe Medallion. It sounds good, and isn't too loud....even on an N/A, and if you plan to go turbo it's perfect.

I run a modified set of Pacesetter headers, and a full 80mm all the way to the back.
With just the 150mm case muffler the set came with, it was too loud, but I added an 80mm resonator inplace of the test pipe,
and it's fine now, even on road trips.

at one time i was going to buy a tanabe medallion but i wasnt sure at the time what i would have to do to make it fit. but i guess the only thing i would have to go is fab the cat where one side is stock and the other 3 inch rite?

I'm running 2.5 with a Flowmaster and it sounds great. It's not one of those fart cannons, its got a good tone to it.

I have a flowmaster on my jeep(inline 6 motor) it's one of the quieter ones I forget the series and love the sound. I was planning on going with a flowmaster on the supra at some point, maybe there classic louder one. Which series do you have?

I have a Topspeed muffler now and I like it well enough. It has a removable silencer that when in place is pretty quiet just a deep tone. With out the silencer I can set car alarms off if I want but it's still quiet at idle. It's a big coffee can muffler but sounds nothing like a honda with similar setup ha. Plus, I never seen anyone with the same setup and I love the grumble sound it makes when downshifting.

I think it is a 60 series Delta Flow. I chose Flowmaster because I don't like the huge coffee can mufflers and that really low sound. I'm more of a musclecar guy so I went with an American muffler, and I'm one of the few that run a Flowmaster on a Supra too.
