mysterious sputtering

So ive been having this problem lately its this bad sputtering and running extremly lean but it seems to only do it after I've been driving around for a while, but at the same time it comes and goes while its warmed up and seems to start from the car just idleing and it kinda sounds like a fuel cut when its doing it. I changed the plugs for some ngks and gapped them at. 028, i checked the coilpacks and they were fine. It still have the stock fuel pump and the fuel filer probably needs to be changed. Do you guys think its cause of the filter beeing cloged or the fuel pump dieing. Also i put some rubbing alchol in my tank to help me pass emmisions and then a couple days later i put some seamfoam in it. Thanks in advanced

Rubbing alcohol contains sucrose octaacetate, which is a burning rate suppressant derived from sugar. You shouldn't be putting it in your gas tank, I don't know who told you that was a good idea. If you want to put isopropanol (the main ingredient in rubbing alcohol) in your tank try a can of "iso fuel system drier".

Also, seafoam is a waste of money. If you suspect your injectors are dirty, pull them out and have them cleaned by a place using the ASNU process. "Pour in" cleaners don't do anything, premium gas already has cleaners and all the proper additives in it, and adding more is like adding too much soap to the dishwasher, it's just going to cause problems.

I doubt your fuel filter is clogged or that your fuel pump is the problem, the car would idle and drive fine under low load and then lean out under high load, but it would do it all the time, not just when it's hot.

If it seems to get worse when the temperature of the engine goes up look at the intake air temp sensor, and the coolant temp sensor. Pull the IAT out and clean it, they usually get full of gunk and it slows the response time.

If this is a 1jz I would open up the ecu.

Ok thanks for the info well ill try draining all my gas out and get some new gas and yes i already checked the ecu and its fine
