Amanda was eating at Logans with her mom and dad tonight. She cut off her first peice of steak, and choked on it. They said she lossed conciousness, and turned blue. Luckily some guy came over and gave her the Heimlick manouver, and cleared her airway. She went to the ER because of being without oxygen for so long. She is fine now, just scared to eat now when she is alone. Also my dad had Congestive Heart Failure on the operating table during a Hernia operation a four days ago. He is out of ICU and at home now. There is to many close fuckin calls going on in my family this week! And I am supposed to keep my BP down? Yeah Right.......:aigo:

I am First Aid, CPR, AED, and Chocking trained also....I get recertified every year. She is slow chewing as hell now..LMAO She didn't eat anything all night, or the next day until I got off work to be there.... The poor thing is afraid to eat by herself now. She ate so slow today that is annoyed me, but I didnt say anything. :biglaugh:
It scared the hell outta her parents. They just froze up. You gotta stay cool and THINK in situations like that.

wow interesting questions..... :-/

I'm glad she's ok! I had a similar scare with BOTH my parents a little over a year ago.

my mom choked on a pancake and i sorta gave her Heimlich until she threw it up. In the heat of the moment and from my rustyness i didnt do the best job but it did get her to throw it back up..... i should get certified

then like...months later, my dad chokes on something and keeps gasping like every breath is his last. that went on for minutes.

first instance i was alone, and left school late for god knows why. i believe it was so i could be there to help my mom....

second instance my mom was home too, but still fuckin scary.

both times scared the piss outta me. I HATE the feeling.

She is fine now, thanks for asking. She is just very emotional, near death experience's will scare anyone. It is a good idea for anyone to take the training...you just never know. I have helped several people having heart attacks in the last few months, and it is a pretty fullfilling feeling knowing they have more time with their families in a large part due to me. One of the few reason's I am still at this shitty job.
