two step cuts fuel then ignition ;) You are not cutting fuel. Regardless of what AEM calls it, definetly Anti-Lag strategy control.

Here's AEM simple explanation

http://www.aempower.com/ViewTopic.aspx?TopicID=25&menu=false

Two Step Launch Control
The EMS gives you the ability to define a secondary rev-limiter, commonly called a 2-Step limiter (Full Throttle, Clutch In, you use both feet, 2 step, get it?). With a user defined RPM value and Cut %, you have the ability to tune your launch to suit the track conditions. Additionally, with AEM's definable switch inputs, you can use the 2-step without the requirement of wiring in a clutch switch.

haha, your car's funny sounds make me giggle. :biglaugh:

The backfire poppin is pretty neat. that has no negative effect on the car huh? My first guess that this was caused by running rich or something. i've seen other '2-step' rev limiter videos before but still dont quite totally get them.

So now as i understand it, the 2-step (or anti-lag?) cuts ignition and fuel gets pooled in the exhaust, where it tends to explode when ignition is restored?

how does a 2-step or anti-lag know you want the lower rev limit? clutch switch?

the car is sick, i don't shoot flames when i hit 2 step on my aem ahhahaha!

The effects of two stepping is controlled via laptop. The tuner, explained in simple words that the effects could be controlled by laptop from a scale of 1 to 10. 1 having no flames, 10 being night time machine gun firefight. I'm at 5.

You got cats on that exhaust setup?
I live in CA. It is illegal to remove emissions equipment. :sarcasm:

building any boost? The 2-step on my aem takes a little to get going then sputters but not flames like that
It builds some boost.

Giggle like a girl? Hehehe.

I'm no expert when it comes to cars; I only drive them. I just trust my mechanic (Kaizen) and the tuner (Bisimoto). As for what I have been informed...no negative effects on the engine, but not the best thing for the turbo. The lower rev limit is controlled by the AEM EMS, there are no switches.

haha love the videos it sounds awesome!! Is that surging sound bad?

It depends

if you consider air that the turbo is producing trying to come back out the turbo via the way it came in, good. Then No.

If you run your turbo with no BOV and think that is good. Then no.

Otherwise. Yes, it is not good.

This aint the "how bad is surge compression" thread. Please start a new thread for continued discussion. Thanks!

Wow its got everything lol. Do you have any pics of it? And how much was the hood? If you dont mind me asking.

Pics could wait until SILV08.:icon_bigg. The hood is a replica. "Nick Stonawski" sells them once in a while for around $500.
