There you go this seems to me like maybe a golden nugget of advice. I'm also glad that you are happy with your supra. I wasn't knocking them I was saying I'd like to have a little of the best of both worlds is all. Just my opinion, there's a reason it's free.
Fuzz's advice with the lucas was good as well, If you want to sell the car. LOL fuzz. wtf? j/k
and for heavier oil, you can try some valvoline premium blue. It's for deisel, but it's worked great for me and my bro. Now if only I get my N/A's electical system on the same page of quality...Fuzz420 said:If its rodknock, dump a bottle of lucas motor oil stabalizer in

I put 25k Strong hard miles on my motor changing il every 3k miles using lucas the whole time at the time i was averaging close to 1000 miles a week. When i think back i dont think the motor would have lasted as long as did.But for 10 bucks a bottle it diffenetly was worth a try.Plus the old redneck guys would be like " runa a bottle of lucas" i never got tired of that one
If i knew about it then i would have tried it. But lucas really seemed to help prolong the ultimate end of my motor.Jervis Mcstabby said:and for heavier oil, you can try some valvoline premium blue. I'm running mine in 105-110degree weather, and so far I've never needed a oil that heavy. The premium blue is 15w-40, and I haven't had any wear problems with it. For Phoenix, 5w-50 seems like it would be too light of an oil for the temperature. (I used to live in Tempe). Out there, at higher revs, the engine heat (coupled with outside temps) is usually too much for 5w to maintain lubrication. 10w and higher operates better in hot climates, but what I would suggest is to at least start at around 15w. If it doesn't improve at 15, then you should probably try the 20w, just to be sure. I'd also suggest carpooling or granny driving until friday!:biggrinki87soup said:Ouch, today comming home from work it was really load! It sounds like it is coming from the first or second cylinder from the front...
Yah im going to try that Lucas stuff with the oil change this friday... What do you think of the Syn power by Valvoline- 20w-50?

Na dude I feel you Im a lucas fan, I love there products. I have known guys to just fill the ride up with lucas and keep on going. But that shit won't keep it running forever. It should get you through till you can get to it yourself or to a shop.
