Driving to school this morning, I heard bubbling coming from under the hood. 2 minutes later I got to school.... I popped the hood and all the coolant was gushing out of the exh. mani. I recently did the HG, and I knew I messed up on one thing. My biggest mistake was not sending the block out to get properly decked. I gonna get it towed home. When I get time, I will tear it apart and just save. When the Spring comes, I will most likely do one big build..... Im stuck at school right now.... no way to get home.. Anyways, Im out...

Out of the exhaust manifold?! :aigo:

That must have been one severly warped block, that, or you didn't torque it correctly, nor tight enough.

What HG did you go with?

Well what do you expect from a 17 yr old who was too anxious to boost? That's no problem. I'm glad it ended up this way. This time, I'm gonna come out harder than ever. I'm going to look at another Supra in 30 minutes.

1989 N/A Turbo - 5SPD.

My car is automatic. I have no money to buy the other Supe, but if I can some way work it out, I'll do a NA-T. My car is also automatic.

Do 89 N/A's come with W58's, or R154's?

How many miles on it since the engine work, and did the engine actually overheat during this event? before you call the salvage yard to come pick it up, I would retorque the head bolts if that has not been done since rebuild.

agreed i would think you would get pulled over for all the smoke coming out of your exhaust before the coolant ate up the exhaust manifold gasket...or did you have a big ass exhaust leak there?

Possibilities:

1. Cracked engine head.
2. Block cracked on the exhaust side on the deck. (Not very likely since I am assuming your running a stock turbo and didn't overheat it)
3. Bad seal on the water pump.
4. Turbo coolant lines.
5. Heat switch coolant line.

I doubt I popped a line to the turbo because I saw coolant gushing directly out of the manifold, for seconds...
I am not doing anything to the car for the rest of the year. I don't have any money right now since I just started college and I am only working part time. I will have to save and do a rebuild maybe over spring break. As for right now, I need to find a way to bring the car home from school, it's still stuck in the parking lot. I don't have enough money to get it towed home. Im trying to figure something out quick, before my school makes the Supe the campus car..lol.
When I left the car there, I took all my shit with me.
I took my SSQV, my Optima Redtop, coilpack, igniter, all the fuses and relays[people up here will take the craziest shit], I took my deck.

The car ran for 900 miles since the HG. I retorqued it at 550 miles. I started realizing a little oil in the coolant just before the retorque; maybe at 500 miles. Once I saw that, I knew it was over. Right now I am looking for a beater. If I can get a nice little civic or accord to save gas with until spring, I can save a good amount of money. This way, I'll put the Supe in my driveway and pull the motor, and buy all my new stuff. New oil pump, new oil squirters, bearings, seals, waterpump, all belts. I was thinking about just pulling it out and going 1JZ, but I know I am not ready for that yet, so I'll stick with my 7M.

If you can't afford a tow call a friend with a truck and hitch it home as a last resort (even though I despise doing that personally). As far as a "cheap" civic goes, I would weigh out what you are going to spend on that and figure out if you can at least do a decent rebuild with that cash, rather than putting money into a beater and then putting money right back into the Supra when you decide to. That's just my opinion.

How can you "see" it gushing out of the manifold?

Isn't the exhaust connected?

Yea ive been reading wondering where coolant was coming out from...?? It really sounds more like a popped line somewhere because coolant product out of the engine would more than likely be steam/smoke and not liquid.
