i had a full running 7mgte i bought from a guy from craigslist for 100 dollars.
he was making 315 whp and had a 75 shot on it running a stock hg:aigo:.

i just droped off the head friday and its geting decked .the shop owner recommended i get the 2mm mhg, since my head had already been decked before. he said my block was in such good condition all i need is a piece of wood and wrap it in some 600 grit and sand until i think its smooth enough.

today i ordered
a mhg kit off supra store arps and timing belt included(ss) 411$
a autometer boost gauge new friend 30$
an aem wideband craigslist (cl) 150$
piston ring kit drift motion (dm) 65$
valve cover gasket kit (dm) 21$
walbro 255 (ss) 90$
full 7mgte gasket kit (dm) 100$
full bottom end set of clevite 77 bearings (dm) 125$
safc2 street and race tune:evil2: craigslist 210$ NEW:icon_bigg
arp rod bolts free:icon_bigg
Minty ct26 free:icon_bigg

still waiting to get a 5 speed ecu and coilpack and im done

i have absolutley no idea what i am doiing!is the wideband and safc2 all the electronics i will need to get this motor running strong?

is the setup i have going to be pretty bullet proof? my main concern is the getting water in the oil what is the best way to make sure the engine is waterless?

please leave any advice you might have.
i am warning every one on supra mania lots of noob questions will be coming soon.:sarcasm:

And that SAFC with the "Race tune".... you need to tune it for YOUR car. You don't want to run someone else's tune. That'll probably just make your engine go BOOM!

Doward is right any shop that tells you to do that doesn't know what there doing. You need a very smooth. Finish to seal a mhg and he doesn't sound like he's gonna make that happen for you. Did you check your bearing before order new ones?

i know that! the tunes that are on the safc 2 will get deleted. im going to put a street tune on it.my car will basicly be a brand new from totota 7mgte on 8lbs.my car wont need a race tune anytime soon.

i was saying that the safc has the ability to hold 2 maps. Not that im going to use the ones already on it.

No shop that will tell you that WOOD of all things (which changes shape based on HUMIDITY ffs) is flat enough for decking a block WILL KILL YOUR SUPRA.

i already checked the bearings they were in good condition but i wanted to get new ones just so that when i put a 57 trim on it will be ready.

the shop that i brought my motor does all the machine work for manictech racing, stp, and bigdaddy racing.so i trust his advice.he said 600 is extremly safe as long as i apply even pressure.

i asked for a hot tank and he said i dont need one "its all for the eyes".his shop must have had a couple thousand heads inside so i know he is good.

i offered to pay for the block deck and he said i dont need one.?

umm ya deff take it to a new shop.

hot tank is to clean everything out and you can never have a too clean of a motor. second you NEED to machine the block and head very smooth with about a 30-50 ra or smoother depending on who makes the hg. sanding with 600 grit is not going to get you there at all.

find a new shop.

You should check the condition of the crank and mic it, not the bearings. And get a new machinist. Its not only how smooth the deck is its how flat it is, a board is not flat enough!
