No the hole isnt painted white. And no the concrete isnt painted. That is from the bottom of the hole. Whatever they put under the road. I would say its similar to chalk, but I know thats not right.

Hang on let me get this straight.....

Airhead thinks she's going to hit him so nails it and hits a kerb and that's her fault? :nono:
(never mind she made 0 contact with his car or any others on the scene)

Not everything is a lawsuit, sometimes you just have to suck it up and deal with the outcome.

I guess it's different in Texas. You can hold someone responsible for an accident if they caused it and made no contact with you. They key is you have to get them to admit that they were going to slam into you and you took an evasive action to avoid it. Had she have not lost control and almost hit him he wouldn't have to do what he did.

Most people are dishonest and will lie/deny about their mistakes. Alot of people will just leave the scene cause even though they know they caused an accident they don't want to stick around and be blamed for it. If they made no contact with you then it's their word against yours. And without some kind of video proof it is impossible to prove they caused it.

When you'e involved in an accident my insurance company wants to know everything. Including people who may have caused it. They'll go after them, but again... their word against yours.

What goes through their mind is "if I admit to doing it, I lose, and if I leave, nothing happens to me" ("nothing" being defined by the individual), so they choose to leave.

OP: If I was in your situation, and knew what was gonna happen (the car getting damaged by the road), I would've also moved anyways. It sounds like it caused a lot less damage to your car than staying put and having her insurance writing off your car. We all know what insurance companies think about our cars' value, so you'd lose anyways. Sorry to hear though, too many people get away with horrible driving.

Didnt hit a curb, I hit a huge ass hole, but ok.

The wheel isnt going to get fixed. Some of the marks are to deep.
Ive moved on. Cops said they cant do anything. I had to call them right then for them to be able to do anything. They did say to contact the county though, to see if they would fix the damage. Because its on a public road and it was the road that messed everything up.

That's what you think, those wheels don't look that bad and I've seen MUCH worse get repaired.

I guess if it was a "Real Wheel" it wouldn't have gotten damaged!

Sorry...just funny how some people think expensive wheels are incapable of getting damaged. I've seen much worse get fixed as well. You would be amazed.

ehh, just be glad you have to replace wheels & fix your already broken steering rather then a TOTALED car thread.... If its not illegal in your state to talk on the phone then guess what. NOT a damn thing is going to happen to her, if she hit you yea she would have gotten in trouble for the "ACCIDENT" but not because shes on her phone as its still legal.

Yes it sucks but good thing you were paying attention and was able to avoid an accident.

so you stopped in the middle of the road to wait for a a truck that had stopped? why couldnt you drive around the truck?

Its a 2 way road. The mail man was stopped on the other side, and I was stopped in front of the holes.
I drive around them everyday, but that day I couldnt.

Find a good wheel repair shop. They should be able to fix them up pretty nice for a whole lot less than new wheels. As poodles said...I've also seen far worse get repaired and look brand new.

I havent been able to find one. Nobody wants to sell one wheel. And those wheels arent produced anymore, at least to my knowledge they arent. So a new wheel would be out of the question.

Ha, very true. Only problem is, is that the city DRAGS their ass when it comes to stuff like that. My father had a similar situation, and it took them almost 8 months to finally fix his car. (he owns an 89 mkIII). Im leaving Florida soon so it would havent been fixed. But Ill never know now. Thanks for all the help everyone. I really appreciate it. Ill take the wheels to GATO, the place that is going to fix them, after Im done with my build.
