what I don't understand is ??

One of the last threads I read was written by "supra cenrtal" regarding , he's tired of pple in his off time bitch'n an crying about offensive topics in the off the topic section, , well, he stated that if you don't like it, there is a back button to click an to stay out of it pretty much to sum it up.. , ,,
I'm not quoting him, an if I need to , I guess I can go to the thread he wrote to understand it better so no one corrects me,

BUT

every once in a while you start a threat in the OT that not might be that pointfull to others but yourself, and your just stating a fact/opinion, or are just messing around.. mind you that there might not be any nudity of any kind, but yes, it might just offend a certain individual or two.. I guess thats where that "" BACK BUTTON"" comes into plpay like ""SUPRA CENTRAL "" STATED...!!!!

just a bit hard to comprehend why if pple airnt fighting about GW ,, or religion,,,, or any other heated topic that a mod or whatever have you has the right or power to just go about closing it b4 any oppinions come into play...... ,, maybe i dont understand, maybe there is abusive power,, maybe its beyoung the realm of my knowlgde that someone can enlighten me ,,
so please, I am open to all , an I mean all oppinions befor this thread gets closed to "FOR NOT MAKING A POINT""

I dont know...seemed like you were holding on to something that happened in the past, and were still pissed off about it.

Your excessive use of the comma button is an interesting thing to behold.

In other news, if you would have read my post in Mike's (Supracentral) thread, you would have noticed that I explained the OT policy quite clearly.

1. I will close and/or delete threads that I think are offensive to a large portion of the community.
2. I will close threads if I think the result of said thread will spill out of the off-topic forum and clutter up other forums.
3. I will close threads if I think they are simply trash and/or trolling.
4. I don't like seeing useless crap posted over and over and over until the OT forum is more full of crappy threads than good ones. I'd hate to see this place turn into the SF OT forum.

Mike's thread was in response to people complaining about threads here in OT that were left open and not deleted/closed. That's right, people were complaining about what was ALREADY in OT, not to mention what has been happening in the last couple days.

Yes, OT will have some material that is potentially offensive to some members, yes OT allows for talk about some touchy issues, however (like I said in Mike's thread), this is directed to people who READ OT, his thread was not meant as a license to post whatever the hell you want in OT. Use your brain and generally speaking, your thread will likely stick around and not be closed and/or deleted.

I don't like closing threads, and I don't like deleting them especially, but if I think that a thread will only only have negative results, or far more negative than positive results, I will close it, not because I don't like the poster, and not because I feel like being a power-hungry bastard, just because I think it is better for the community as a whole, and the community trumps any individual.

Your right to post whatever you want is really only limited to what the community will accept from you. Right now, the mods do their best to do what we feel is what the community wants. Generally speaking, the community wants to feel like a community, where people respect one another, and so on.

Right now I'm cracking down a bit on OT threads because I want to bring the OT section back to a more sane state, I love SM's OT forum, because real life issues and so on get discussed, but when someone posts some random thread about something random they found on the internet, and really no discussion can occur other than "I lolled" and "ROFFLES", etc, what point is there? Sure it's fun now and then, which is why there are so many of those types of threads, but recently it seems that almost every second OT thread is like that, which I find annoying. I think the majority of people do too.

I hope that answers some of your questions anyways, it's kind of a long summary of what I've been saying for a long time. :)

In conclusion: enjoy SM, enjoy the OT forum, post meaningful (at least a bit) threads, and have fun! Sometimes people just want to post things to get a reaction from people, well that's all well and good, but I think it's been happening too much recently is all.

An if I don't, everyone is really going to see the extent and excessiveness of the use of my COMMA'S really interesting to behold.

Alright, I'm not really sure how an argument could be started, haha, since nobody is arguing and I don't think there is anything to argue about, but okay! :) (Arguments can be fun sometimes, I must admit -- though usually they result in nothing being solved).

Also, I too am tired, my bed, it is calling my name. See ya tomorrow I guess ;)
