Figured I'd make a thread for my new daily driver, I still have the Ford and the Supra. Just no job/money to work on either of them. Before I got laid off I picked up a new DD. It's a '07 Chev 1500 Classic, ext cab/short box. 4.8l/auto.
I bought the truck out of province and had a huge nightmare getting it passed all the inspections. Luckily I bought it from a dealership so he had to fix it for me. Finally got it on the road and driving.
Here is a pic from when I bought it.
I had it on the road for about a week and I lowered it. 4" in the front with spindles and springs and 6" in the back with a flip kit.
Then I smoked the taillights and third brake light
Drove it like that for the winter and then finally got some tires for my wheels and put them on.
Now I'm just in the process of smoking the amber reflectors in the headlights and turn signals. I got the turn signals done but not the headlights. I'll post some pics once it's all done.
There is still some more I'm going to do to it. I need to raise the tranny crossmember, the y-pipe and the gas tank. I'm hoping to do full exhaust instead of just raising the y-pipe, so I can get rid of the huge stock muffler. Someday if I keep it long enough it'll be getting bagged, and maybe some motor work but for now I'm just driving it and enjoying having a reliable vehicle :biglaugh:
