Hey guys : ), I go by Sside here in Houston Texas. I am 20 and some how go my hands on a 1990 Mk3 Supra. It all started a few months back when my uncle mentioned his friend selling a supra that had been sitting in one place for who knows how many months. He asked the guy to sell it but the guy just said No every time. My uncle Offered a good 2,000 just for the body but the guy wouldnt take it. As months passed the guy finally gave in to sell the car, My uncle asked just in time because the car was already sold to some one else but since he knew my uncle he would sell it to him for the negotiated price of 1,000. My uncle let me know right away and right away I jumped at the chance. Its been about 4 weeks now and tomorro the car will be coming home from its engine swap. I purchased a 7mg turbo imported, it was a pain finding an engine that looked in good shape but found a great looking one finally, thru that process I stumbled upon a 2J 2.5 twin Turbo for 700 bucks so if anyone is interested let me know because its still there. Anyways, I have yet to drive the supra and it will be coming home tomorro thursday. I honestly cant wait just to see it again. In the upcoming week I will go ahead and take some new pics of the car. For now I will let yall see the pic my uncle took while the car was abandoned, It looks a lil difrent now after wash muahaha but ima take those pics later. I named the thread my new baby because the Girl I love left me due to distance a few months back, this car has helped me get my mind off her a little : (.Oh and its Great!!!! to be here in this forum. :) Sorry for long Read.

looks like you have a good project to start on, good luck with it! start a build thread and post up your progress!

did you mean to say 1J? (1J is 2.5, 2J is 3.0) cause thats hella cheap for a 2J, but i'm assuming its the 1J.

Yeah, it must be 1J. I am sorry for the ignorance of a young 1st time Supra owner. But to be honest, it could be a 2j because I never saw the engine, my father saw it and said it looked like the 2.5's he said. He knows nothing of supras so he wouldnt know what kind either. I will head down there tomorro and take a look at it for ya or anyone interested in it. I think its really cheap even for a 1j, I tried putting it in my supra but it came out too much money because I only found one guy who would put it in and he charged like 1,600 just for labor :(. I am still a broke college student.

Welcome to SM :icon_bigg nice project you have there....if you have any questions about anything make sure to use that search function because chances are...it has probably been covered already! oh and about that girl situation.....I am no Dr.Phil but i can tell you from experience (all 22yrs of it LOL) girls come and go but the supra is always there so make sure to take care of her.
SUPRA + random Hot girls > steady GF (ask me how i know ;))

Lol, broke college student club woop woop!!!. And I dont plan on annoying yall for any little stupid thing that comes up :p. I normally just search on google or forums anyways. And about the girl thing, I got girls coming and coming and coming. I have never been this lucky with girls lol, I think its due to this music myspace page I started a few months ago. But maybe im just a stupid cuz I cant take any of them, still love ma ex. And I will take care of ma Supra like she is the only one in my life :). Already I am a hardcore Supra fan and Project she most defenetly is. My 1st project car, this one will be passed down to my Son hopefully :D. Oh and,SUPRA + random Hot girls > steady GF (ask me how i know ;)). How do you know? lol.

Thanks for the support BLuechu lol, and yeah our cars defently look close to identical. As for Coobie, you gonna get one man so Dw bout it. I just got lucky, honestly I did. And I rarely ever get lucky. And yeah it be nice to have a Supra Meet were BlueChullapa can take his, id like to see it in person and were you could meet some Supra owners!!!.

It's a pretty long story...(i did not actually think you would ask:biglaugh:) to make it short it went something like this: Tampa annual Supra meet, GF not happy, I go anyways, hot chicks in Tampa + hot chicks at work in Jacksonville, GF pissed even more, GF ditches me one night, that would be the last night she would ever ditch me. :icon_bigg But i still have the Supra.....and the random hot chicks in town :naughty: ( not a bunch but a few) On another note you should start a build thread....and as you go post some pics of your progress!

no but i am pretty sure the mkiv do! My turbo is not big enough to pull in a girl in my mk3!:biglaugh:

Lol, iono man. It looks like your mk3's turbo is pulling some girls. But wait, you talk about auto shows? was your mk3 in them. If So can I see your car lol? I want to copy it :p.

sadly my car is nowhere near show condition....my build thread is somewhere out there on pg 3 but it is truly nothing to copy.....maybe other than the motor internals:evil2:

Lmao, I told a girl I am talking to about my car. She saw I was exited about it so she was like tell me about it. Bad Idea on her part lol, I was like well its turbo and she just got this confused face and asked whats that. I answered, well lets just say its a little bit faster then the averege non Turbo car. But really It can be alot faster depending on how big a turbo and engine type. Then I said, my car is prob way faster then anything you been in. And she said No way im getting in that car with you then. So yup I am starting to tell they do scare girls away lol.

Brought the Supra Home today :(, Something is wrong with it :(. The engines runs smooth but the car wont go over 20 mph :(. It just stays like in 1st gear soo I am sad. Hmm, It supoosely needs some vacum sensors and stuff so I will do some more thing to it 2morro to see if I can get it running any better :(. Im exhausted and fustrated. Grrrrrrr

Knock Sensors?
Sounds like your car was in Limp mode. Im guessing your auto
My car got put in limp mode from a BIG boost leak set off the knock sensors
