thought 83mm was stock bore...and cometic made 84mm...

2mm more probably doesnt make a diff.

cometic makes a whole crapload of sizes but the 1.3mm with 84mm bore was $149 while the one I got was $117...

I consulted the search function and IJ about the bigger bore and from what I gather it's acceptable too run a larger bore gasket.

I did however suggest my preference would have been a 2mm gasket with the correct size bore ;)

indeed you did....but I don't have adjustable cam gears and I'm not sure what lifting the head will do too cam timing as well as all the stock support brackets for the turbo and intake mounting...i personally would rather keep proper squish and compression on this motor as it's not gonna see big power:-(

Reality is...I'm trying too just get this car too run ok and have a bit more fun then the n/a can offer....trying too get it running before Xmas so I can visit my mom in TN (12hour drive) which I don't trust the n/a too make. After that the real fun should start as hours at work should pick up and I'll have more money.

.6mm isn't going to make a lot of difference, as for "proper squish/compression" I'd say between to two alternatives it's going to be damn close as you're adding volume in the 86mm gasket and I think/feel it would have more of an effect on the squish than the +.6mm gasket.

Either way it's going to be fine.
