well after 2 other supras i think i finally found one i want to work on....still daily the na and i sold the other turbo supra that i kinda sorta kept a secret...

found the car on craigslist for $800...so i called him up and asked to see it. fallowing weekend i went and put an alternator in the car for him so i could test drive it....he said his alt was bad (bran new) and wasnt charging the bat....either way i got the car started and took it for a drive...car ran well accept it had a major boost leak and fuel cut left and right! i could tell he had tried to fix things under the hood but nothing that i cant tackle myself as i knew the plans for the car would make me dig into that shit anyway.

so anyway i figured out the alt was good indeed but something is up with the wireing...no matter ill figure it out later as right now ive got more important shit to deal with

anyway pics.

on that note...the turbo that came on this car is in fucking great shape...no bent fins, very little shaft play, spins like a sob without oil! I was really surprised! shame as i plan on getting rid of it lol

Looks like a great car for a great price.I wish I saw this car for sale.

Yeah it's too bad! Needs a drivers side door as it looks as though this one is rusting around the door handle....but for the most part the car is ok.

So while I was removing the exhaust mani I noticed that the studs didn't strip any threads in the head!! Seems like this head is still pretty hard on the exhaust side which makes me happy! Still plan on timecerting the exhaust studs though for safe measure.

The little thing on your core plug is for warranty purposes i believe, if you overheat the engine it will pop off and then they will know that the warranty is not valid anymore. They use them on heads too. Those big allen plugs are like that on all 7m's btw.

But thanks cyfi glad to know that thing isn't something worth thinking about!

I have a 90 Motor here with Freeze Plugs.

that's really friggin strange! Wonder what the story is behind that?!

Also noticed that the trans mount on this car looks diff than most I've seen....damn thing has a big ass bump stop on the back of it.

Need to get ahold of a pressure washer to get the hard to reach areas.
