Swapping the resistors on the na tach is cake, took me like 2 hours, and when I swapped in my gte my clutch did the same as you described. And now while Im rebuilding Im putting in a 6 puck ceramic. That problem wont go away, it will just annoy the hell outta ya. But good luck

damn crush my hopes and dreams haha... ah well I'll just baby it run under 6lbs of boost untill I can afford a new clutch and r154 setup... or at least a very nice clutch for the w58.. man do I love how this thing shifts...

so I guess there is no way I can just transfer the little pcb board that's on the auto turbo tach and swap it for the one on my na tach.. would that be the same as changing the resistors or no? Does the auto turbo tach have all the little resistors I need to put on my na tach? so I can save myself a trip to the store?

My clutch for my W58 cost me $420 and its a competition clutch with pressure plate. Its rated for around 400ftlbs I think(I ordered it awhile back). But with the W58 I cant expect much more than that anyway.

As far as just swapping the pcb boards Im not sure, but I do have the resistors if youre interested. Just so you know, those resistors arent that easy to find, definitely not at radioshack (if thats what you were thinking). Took me all of a day to find them online. Found them at mouser electronics online

I'm going to go pull my dash and see if those resistors are already in the auto's pcb.. that might make finding them easier :p

Nice Job!

For your tach problem, it has been a while since I did mine, but I think I just replaced the whole pcb board. I had an 87 turbo tach and my NA is 89. So the face is different and I wanted to keep the same look on my dash. I remember having to re-solder one wire that comes off the pcb board, but it was simple and only took a few minutes to switch over onto my NA tach. It works fine.
