How much material can be removed from the block and head before I run into problems with tightening the timing belt and piston/valve clearance. I thought I would ask so I can let the machine shop know how much room they have to play with and I think I should let them know I am going to eun a thinner gasket right?

I finally got it up and running!! After way too many delays the 7m is alive and strong!! I got everything installed except for the MSD 6A box because I don't have the tach adapter, but I will probably order that in the next week or so. I must say that I am very impressed with the build. The car idles a little crappy when its cold and I am not sure why but once it warms up she idles like a champ. After I let her warm up I drove for about 20 miles with out a hiccup. The temp. guage was a little higher then I remember while sitting in traffic but that is probably due to the fact I didn't have a bottle of Redline water wetter to put in like before. Anyway onto the first impressions of driving.............IT WAS F***ING GREAT!! I have the ability to pass at will with out downshifting and I really didn't understand what people meant about how crisp their throttle response was until now!! Every little movement of my foot on the gas pedal translates in to even more forward motion. I wouldn't call the car really fast but it is really quick. I know I am going to catch hell from someone with a turbo because I said a NA was quick, but screw'em this is the most powerful car I have every owned and I love it!! All in all I am very please!! Up next on my list is a new radiator, clutch and fuel system upgrades.

Way to go! Personally I love the throttle responce of a N/A combined with the 4.30 (5spd) gears. Stop light to stop light, We can tear up a lot of the turbo guys....but dont go play the roll on from 55 game with em...lol. GratZ on a successful rebuild.

As for you cold idle issues, check your TPS and ISC controllers for proper resistance and proper adjustment. It could just need some break in time though.

Thanks for the kind words guys!! I just can't wait to get to the dyno!! My butt dyno (LOL) is telling me the motor should make some relatively high numbers.
