Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics, it's all I had. I have no clue what I'm going to do with the car now. I just don't have the money to fix her. I start a new job next month finally! Hopefully I can take it back to the place I bought it from, but I don't think that I want another block from them. I need to find a descent block to put my JE's in, I think that would be my best bet.

As Ian stated, it doesn't necessarily mean the machine shop did anything wrong. If the injector wasn't operating properly, there's no ammount of machine work that can save it.

Hopefully you'll get this resolved Ryan without it costing you too much. I know how hard it is to keep building them when they tear up.............as do most of us on here. Good luck.

dam he posted it on here too.

i thought it was an injector when i read this on sf. i don't see how anything as far as assembly would cause that.

What does a "injector laying down" mean? Does it mean a lack of fuel and burning lean?

Thanks in advance for the education!
That's exactly it. Faulty injector doesn't put in enough fuel, cylinder runs lean, lean = HOT, piston melts, molten aluminum coats the rod / crank / everything underneath it.

This has nothing to do with machine work.

Man, looks bad. Like a couple people have already stated, looks like an injector died and the cylinder went lean.

We have a couple blocks laying in the shop, dont hesitate to hit me up if you need one. Hell, Id even build the shortblock for you if you dont have time to do it yourself. PM me and we can talk about it.

Keep your head up man, dont give up on her. Even if you have to put her aside for a little bit and come back later to build it again.

Correct it's either blocked or under voltage so lets just enough fuel in for it to do a really good impersonation of a plasma cutter (Al spray on the rod is a dead giveaway)

It's doing the machine shop an injustice to blame this on them.

(I saw this over on SF and didn't want to start any shit over there so posted here instead)

Never knew that bit about the melted piston coating the rotating assembly, i take back my shop bashing comment.

Have you had the 680 injectors or what ever size they are tested lately?

Say what??? Since when did you give a flying fuck what anyone thought? ;)

Everything else has been covered. Don't put used injectors in, GET THEM CHECKED AT THE VERY LEAST.

Now you're seeing where cheaping out on $100 (blueprinting/flowtesting injectors) can cause all kinds of $$$$ chaos.
