Started tearing her down tonight. Huge props to Chris Seddon for helping me out and props to Steve for risking dirtying his good pants to help out too haha.

Definitely not a factory turbo lol. Figured that out half way through last night, so many bolts that should have been completely seized came off no problem, some of the wiring you could tell was newer, and then the VIN was MA70, not 71. haha oh well.

oh, nevermind, i was looking at the number on the firewall, the doorjam and all the papers say Ma71, does the firewall just say chassis code or something? I dunno I'm a noob. It is an original turbo. looks like new inside though, still has the crosshatching(?) on the cylinder walls.

I come from a land down under
In 7M's the crosshatching is almost always still visable as they're cast in some of the hardest cast iron known to man ;)

This doesn't mean that the cylinders are still servicable you need to carefully measure everything as it's going to need to be rehoned if you're installing new rings and this will often bump the bore out of spec for stock pistons.

got some bad news. The shop I sent the head to to get cleaned up says that the cams are severely warped. Time to start looking for a new head/motor.

I'm into this car, just over $1000. I'm really curious to see how much i get for it! All the profits from selling it are going into my wagon. 1JZ swap, here i come! :D
