Today was a good day. I got quite a bit done. I ordered the hose techniques SVH kit in super blue to match my interior color scheme. I am about 90% done installing it.

In the process of doing this install I found several other hoses in need of replacement. Both of the ISC hoses, and the turbo water hose that goes to the thermostat housing.

When I was replacing the hoses on the VSV under the very front of the intake manifold, I was having trouble with a stuck hose and broke the plastic nipple on the valve. Is it ok to drive w/o this valve, if I have the vac system capped off so there are no leaks, until I can get a replacement?

I also am having trouble finding where the BOV hose on the intake side goes. It goes down in between the manifold and I loose it. Any help?

I was also having an idle issue. The motor liked to idle ~1200 when warm. I pulled the EFI fuse while I did the install to reset the ECU. So I am unsure if it was a vac leak, or the reset, that fixed it, but I now have a consistent idle of ~750 with a warm motor.

That's the hot temp pressure up VSV...may cause issues when it gets warm this summer.

Could you explain this a little more please? Are you refering to fuel pressure?

Also, I do not plan on driving the car like this forever, I will be calling toyota in the morning. Just wondering if I can drive it for a week if toyota takes that long to get me a part.

Thanks for any help

Yes, it's purpose is to increase fuel pressure if the ECU detects coolant temp is too high during start. It helps prevent vapor lock at high engine temps. It won't likely cause you a problem this time of year...I would get it fixed fairly soon though.

It looked better in the before picture.

You should have saved your money for your BHG fund.

The vacuum line for the BOV eventually connects to pipe 25706 in that diagram you posted. It is the only line that is not shown connected to it. Good ol' yoda....

colored vacuum line to me, look a little tacky.

i suppose if they were routed better and all the parts were clean from the oil, then it would maybe, look better.

it's just these randomly placed blue lines that just makes your eyes go crazy.

Basic maintenance would be replacing vacuum lines as needed, or while disassembling, with genuine molded toyota hoses. Not ripping apart and breaking stuff in a mad effort to install a ricer mod.

Vacuum lines aren't molded. They are merely rubber hoses. I think it's great that this guy is replacing his VERY OLD lines with fresh new ones. OH NOES they aren't Toyota parts. lol All that means is he didn't get raped on the price. Whether or not they are blue, it is still a worthwhile exercise in proper preventative maintenance.

LOL. How is this a ricer mod? Because it is colored hose? This hose is superior to the rubber normally used. As for the BHG comment, trust me, I am saving up for that.

I am willing to bet that if this thread was "Look at the 30k I put into my supra" and then showed you a TRUE show quality car, there would be no haters. I never claimed my car to be ANYTHING, especially fast or of show quality.

Shame on me for doing what I can as time/money allows. I have only had this car for a couple months.

To the few that have helped, thank you, it is much appreciated.
