that's exactly my next interior project... a car audio shop is doing it for me, quoted me $350 which i think is fair, would take me a very long time to do myself, especially sanded down perfectly and painted a nice glossy black which would show all the imperfections if done poorly. the only things that will be there will be the climate control relocated to the very bottom, radio just above it, and the hazard lights. everything else will be gone.

Damn well after they do that for you. POST PICS! Then Ill send them mine also. WOOT!

One place where "bench fit" & "final fit" were different:

And yes, it sticks out a little far, but not so bad I won't use it !

Pics above are with steering fully telescoped.
Pic below is w/ the wheel pushed all the way in.

Here you can see that I molded the factory trimpiece into this gaugepanel, this makes the mounting 100% factory.

I love it ... I can't believe my first ever attempt at this stuff came out this nice. Of course, I've been looking at this thing for so long now, that all I can see is what's wrong with it any more - good thing I've got all those gauges to distract me from the panel !!

Yep, 4 led's ...

It took some looking, to find some I liked - Radio Shack's selection just wasn't cuttin' it - but I found a shop selling pre-wired assemblies, ready to wire up to a 12v source. They're in chrome 'hooded bezels' and appear clear unti lit - two greens for turn signals, one blue for bright lights, and a red - yet to be dermined. I'm leaning toward a shift light, at the moment.

You're right ... the enabling factor here is that I'm going to an AEM EMS, so the c.e.l. wouldn't work anymore anyways (as I understand it, anyway - could be wrong) ... also allows me to bypass the v.s.s. in the stock speedo. Not that I want to, particularly, that's just how it's worked out with this brand electric speedo.

yea im pretty sure it eliminates it...thats why its hard if not impossible to go through emissions with EMS......now we need some night time pics of that cobalt sexyness lol

Charlie - there's a trim panel on either side of the steering column that isn't installed in the pictures, everything should be covered up when it's all put back together.

ViR - I agree, I guess I'm just gonna have to try it again!!

Thanks again, all !
