hmmm, now this thread makes me wonder. i just had my 1j with comparable upgrades on the dyno and only made 320 hp. heres what im wondering...

1. it was not a stationary dyno that i used but one that you can transport and the owners told me to add 15-18% to my number of 270ish which is how i arrived at 320. Do you guys think thats accurate?

2. I was only running 14 lbs, does 2 lbs of boost really make up that much hp?

3. What rpm did you make peak power/torque at? mine was breaking up at 5500 rpm due to no tune and fuel cut from increased boost.

First you need to put into play how healthy your 1J is, mine has perfect compression across the board with no vac or intake leaks all of that will play a major part especially the compression.

I myself was also on a dynopak like yourself and wanted to gotest that theory out on a mustang dyno because if you are really suppose to add 15%-18% to your numbers like I have heard as well then I'd be around 420hp if I did my math right:confused:. Which is hard for me to believe.

Alot of it will come down to the strength of the motor yourself 2 psi will make a difference but I dont think it'll make 100hp difference, actually I know it won't.

Look at my dyno I'm also on no tune at all just have a blitz ecu my peak power is near 4500 and peak torque is about 5500.

Great number BTW. I am hoping for similar numbers this summer as I have the same mods as you plus Stinger EMS and jdm 440's.

Also the Blitz ecu will make the difference between your dyno and the other individuals.

yeah, i looked at your sheet but it was hard to see what the rpms were...

what gear where you in for that pull?

my 1j is in great shape, no leaks, pulls hard. hell last week i ran a 13.08 at 105 with a 1.9 60'. I also have blitz 3", big fmic, intake and apexi avcr is whats controlling the boost. i was thinking a lot of the problem was no tune at all so the car was breaking up around 5500 but if thats where you were making peak power i shouldnt be that far behind you.

so your saying that those numbers are on a dyno that you're supposed to add 15 - 18% to? cuz i also find it hard to believe that given your list of upgrades you'd be out ahead of me by that much.

some other things that i just thought of that might have had an effect is that this dyno was brand new, maybe it was operator error and the dudes who just got it didnt know how to use it. also (and i dont know if this has a damn thing to do with anything so be gentle) they didnt have anything but a little carpet drying fan in front of my car so it could have been starved for air.

Damm your american dynos read increadibly high. Over here on a perfect 1j with fmic dumps standalone management at 18psi your looking at around 230rwkws. But peak outpoint of different dynos are pointless. Get on the track, run the quarter and calculate your power from your trap mph. Chris davey knows how to do it if your unsure. Much more accurate this way :)
