yeah but you non-broke supra spenders don't have wives, kids and house payments

VERY TRUE. My bills include, car insurance, school and supplies, gas, food, cell phone, odds and ends. Anything left over after that after putting some in savings is open season on parts and shit.

I have a wife and a house, no kids... 3 dogs?? Its harder to spend on the supra, House first we have no credit card payments, then the normal things we use every day, Electric , cell phones, insurrance for cars and house, food. Dog stuff -food and toys for the dogs, After all that then I throw it to the supra, Have 10k on its way to be used 100% by the supra :)

It started on the first try and she saw hte look in my eyes and Jumped up and said HE DID IT!!!!!! She was screaming with excitement and she gave me a huge hug, the money I spent, the mess I made, the car, none of it mattered to her, she just loves seeing me happy and successful in whatever I do. I love my mommy

Broke and Supra go hand in hand... in more ways than one.

QFT. I don't have a Supra, but I still put money into the Celica. Jon (phoenix6) is shitting himself in wanting to boost the car. I'm buying li'l tidbits for it here and there, but that's it. Not much to take it down for more than 8 hours.

Guys you can do what I do... to hold off the "insane family name calling" lol.. (for your next car that is...:edit lol)
I bought my car before I told my parents I've bought it.. they "knew" i wanted one... in that mean time I got around to dropping the rear, putting on Charcoal Grey TwiNTurboR 5spokes and removing the tint and putting in the pod filter. :)

...... then...
I rocked up at home one day "Look mah... I bought my car!" lol not that way but trying to put some humor into it... and yeah... so as far as they are concerned that's how "I" got the car... obviously later on when I do big HP work... they'll be cool by then.. since i'm apparently holding off so long atm. LOL

my parents dont think im crazy for wanting to put money into the supra, they want me to focus on school first. i keep firing back with "when the car is done i wont worry about it anymore" but they still dont seem to get it. they seem to let me, and encourage me to put the money into my car because they know how much i love tinkering with stuff, and they want to see me finish something that I built. they mainly want me to be safe with it, IE the faster i accelerate, the faster they want me to accelerate in the opposite direction, and they dont want me to have a car that isn't drivable on the street.

I dont really mind, I just wanted to post about it.. I am getting alot of flack about spending 10k on my 89 supra. Everyone thinks I should just buy a new car but I think the users here would see it my way.. Right????
Haha I went through this when I bought my supra, why are you buying another old car you could get something new thats better for a little bit more.

Response new cars are boring, its my money and I want this car.

I haven't told them how much I've spent on mods :biglaugh:

I used the new cars depreciate argument too, either way I end up losing the same amount of money but with the supra I have a hell of a lot more fun along the way:love: .

Haha I was playing online games once and there was an American kid on and he was talking about Kangaroos, we told him the big greys were pretty dangerous and were known to attack and fight people.

He then went on to claim he could beat one up lol:aigo:

Yeah we have a pet croc in our swimming pool

I think you are crazy for one reason. But I have spent damn near the same amount on my car, my family doesn't give a crap. Both my sisters are into "hooking" up their cars. My mom doesn't say much, and my dad did it when he was younger so what can he say. All I tell them is, "It's my money."

Dowser... I guess some people just never understand the passion of having a nice car just the way you like it. They prefer boredom and seldom fun, over you lighting up some tyres, driftin a lil and just enjoying every bit you get to drive. The older generation though do have a different mentality... well most.. but i'm sure when they were young adults they had a passion for cars of some sort (muscle cars of the 70s?).
